Several Callbacks[edit]

  • The Ayleid ruins of Elanwe's Grave is a clear reference to the ghost of Elanwe from ESO.
  • Same goes with the Ayleid ruins of the Tomb of Ostarand and the Ayleid spirit of Ostarand from ESO.
  • Also with Valasha's Maze and Valasha from ESO.
  • Finally, same goes with Varondil's Crypt and Varondil from ESO.
  • The Ayleid Ruins of Varlasel is also a location in ESO.
  • "Graymoor" in Graymoor Caves may be a misspelling of Greymoor.
  • Tullius' Cavern may be named after General Tullius.
  • Anvil Keep is clearly named after the town of Anvil.
  • Fort Grimwell is a location in Northmoor.
  • Skyborn Hold may be related to Skyborn Altar.
  • Greenheart Grove is clearly named after the town of Greenheart.

Just a few notes. Varlasel just means Hall of Stars, and there are at least three other locations with that name, so that's not a reference to any of them in my opinion. Also, TES tends to use American spelling, so Graymoor from Greymoor makes sense (since gray is the American spelling). Other than that, all these make sense. Jeancey (talk) 15:37, 7 May 2019 (UTC)
Tullius' Cavern doesn't make sense at all. Phoenix Neko (talk) 16:59, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
How is that? In-universe, the cavern may not be named after the Imperial general himself, but from an IRL perspective, it could certainly be a reference to him. --Rezalon (talk) 06:41, 21 June 2019 (UTC)
Yeah, this is about real life references, and Tullius' Cavern is clearly a reference to General Tullius. From an in-game perspective it could be fine too. He was certainly alive and in the military at this time. Maybe he fought a major battle near this cavern during the war, and they named it after him? Just saying, there are possibilities. Jeancey (talk) 15:15, 21 June 2019 (UTC)
Really? There couldn't be another people called Tullius in all Tamriel history? There were countless Uriels, Alessias, Magnuses, etc., but there only can be one Tullius? Phoenix Neko (talk) 19:59, 21 June 2019 (UTC)
This page isn't about the ACTUAL in-game source of the name. This is about references to other Elder Scrolls games. When there is a prominent NPC in a game with the name, and a later game has something named the same as that prominent NPC, that's intentional and a reference. Whether the actual location is named, in-universe, after that character is speculation and wouldn't be referenced, but it's not impossible for this to be the case. Regardless, they definitely are referencing General Tullius with the name of Tullius' Cavern. Jeancey (talk) 20:39, 21 June 2019 (UTC)
AFAIK, "not impossible" and "definitely" are completely different things. Phoenix Neko (talk) 21:02, 21 June 2019 (UTC)

() Those were in reference to an in-universe thing that is not really part of this proposal. The proposal is basically "Why did the devs chose to name it Tullius' Cavern" and we are saying "They did it cause there is a character in Skyrim named General Tullius." That seems pretty clear. Jeancey (talk) 22:00, 21 June 2019 (UTC)

...while the answer can just as well be "because Tullius is a name". There is no sensible relation to General Tullius from Skyrim. Why not Marsus Tullius or Stentus Tullius from Morrowind? Or any other Tullius not known yet? The proposed reference to General Tullius is just a baseless speculation which ignores any other possibilities. Phoenix Neko (talk) 08:06, 22 June 2019 (UTC)
General Tullius is clearly the more obvious and relevant as Blades is closer to Skyrim in the timeline than it is to Morrowind --Rezalon (talk) 12:12, 22 June 2019 (UTC)

Bendu Olo[edit]

Just like Oblivion before it, Bendu Olo is the default player name in Blades: Default.Player.Name,"Bendu Olo". Vyraesi (talk) 08:06, 12 September 2019 (UTC)

Nazeem[edit]

The description for the Whiterun Banner furnishing reads "Whiterun is a city in central Skyrim divided into the Plains, Wind and Cloud districts, the latter of which is well worth visiting." which seems to be a clear callback to Nazeem's iconic line "Do you get to the Clouds District very often? I what am I saying, of course you don't." Given Whiterun's status as the most traveled to city in Skyrim (due to its involvement in the Main Quest) and how often fans have fun with killing Nazeem it makes a lot of sense for them to reference him. Town Dialogue[edit]

"Cliff racers. *Shudder*"
"By Azura! I'd die to meet a Grand Champion!"
"I saw some mudcrabs by the water recently."
Some obvious callbacks to Morrowind and Oblivion here (source). —Legoless (talk) 09:34, 19 August 2020 (UTC)

Yup pretty direct references, town dialogue is full of them so there's prob even more The Rim of the Sky (talk) 00:29, 23 August 2020 (UTC)
