Incorrect required skill list?[edit]

I think the list of required skills is incorrect. I am at least sure that Critical Strike doesn't belong there, since I haven't advanced in rank even though my CS is very high. I don't know how to check what skills do belong on the list, but according to http://www.izhtex.com/tes2/guilds/thieves.htm, they are:

Backstabbing, Climbing, Lockpicking, Pickpocket, Short Blade, Stealth, Streetwise

Not sure how reliable that source is, but I think the list is more sensible than the one in this article. Lockpicking and Pickpocketing seems like a given in a Thieves Guild. I'd go ahead and edit the article, but to be on the safe side I'd like someone to agree with me first :-)

If you compare the required skills and trainings of the TG and the DB you will notice, that these are identical. The same was with the benefits per rank, before I corrected them. It seem that Timmeh, who created the article in the first place made some mistakes. I could check the skills available for training when I've some time, but In terms of the required skills, I've no idea what exactly these are. Such kind of informations can not be checked directly, because they are hard coded in the FALL.EXE file. I know the named web page myself and although it is a very good information source for Daggerfall, especially it's picture supported walkthrough for the main quest, even this page contains some errors, I can confirm from my personal experiences.
Backstabbing, Climbing, Lockpicking, Pickpocket, Short Blade, Stealth, Streetwise seem to be very fitting skills for a thieve class character, but as I wrote, there is no way at the moment to know this for sure, unless one has faith in the informations mentioned on that site.--PLRDLF 18:30, 28 November 2008 (EST)
Uhm, since I'm the source, I'd say it's reasonably reliable, however the link is not and should read http://www.tesguides.com/tes2/guilds/thieves.htm Marstinson (talk) 06:17, 5 October 2017 (UTC)

Lost in Translation?[edit]

There are a few words in the Guildhalls section of the article that I can't really make sense of.

  • "actual casual buildings": what's a "casual" building? And what types of buildings are there other than actual buildings?
  • "paled front court": I have no idea what "paled" is supposed to mean.

Could someone clarify what's meant so that better English translations can be found? --NepheleTalk 22:20, 24 February 2009 (EST)

I think that "actual casual buildings" refers to the fact that Theives guild halls, in contrast to the more open and legal guilds, do not show up in blue on the map screen. Therefore those outside the guild would see the local theives guild as just another residence in town, nothing out of the ordinary or special. I also think the author meant to say "are actually causual looking buildings," although it makes more snese to simaply say that guildhalls don't appear blue on the map. I do not know what "paled" means in this context either. — Unsigned comment by RifleAvenger (talkcontribs) at 04:18 on 29 July 2009 (UTC)
