Switching abilities[edit]

If you go back into the section of Apocrypha from Untold Legends and choose one of the other two while the Butler is carrying stuff, will he still have all of it next time you choose that as an ability? Schiffy (talk) 20:53, 18 February 2013 (GMT)

Yes I was wondering the same thing, I tried it and he does keep it. At least on console — Unsigned comment by 99.195.114.77 (talk) at 16:32 on 9 May 2013
I just checked because I was curious and he DOES keep your stuff if you switch to the merchant and then back to the butler :D — Unsigned comment by 207.195.86.139 (talk) at 05:14 on 25 May 2021 (UTC)

15 seconds?[edit]

What happens to the stuff you get him to carry after the 15 seconds do they disappear with him and return when you call him again? Biffa (talk) 11:53, 19 March 2013 (GMT)

Well, yeah. It'd be kind of pointless otherwise. If your stuff disappeared forever when you gave it to him, you might as well just drop it in an incinerator instead. I prefer the Dremora Merchant though. No carry-limit, and you can sell stuff in the middle of a dungeon. — TheRealLurlock (talk) 14:21, 19 March 2013 (GMT)
That really depends on at what point you are. At my point in the game I can enchant an iron dagger with a petty soul and make it worth 1800 gp so money is pointless. However, I would like to keep those pretty dragon scales and dragon tooth I just got from the dragon I just killed... they weight a lot. ZirePhoenix (talk) 20:20, 25 September 2014 (GMT)

Strange permanent summon[edit]

After turning in the "find a black book" quest to Neloth, I walked out of Tel Mithryn tower and was attacked by a dragon. After killing the dragon at the bottom of the apothecary steps, I summoned my Dremora Butler to carry the bones and scales. After fifteen seconds, he disappeared... and then appeared as if he had exited the Tel Mithryn kitchen, ran down the steps, and came to gawk at the dragon skeleton with all the dialogue of a normal altmer. Talking to him even produced the "It may be dead now, but where did it come from?" line with subtitles. He never disappeared naturally after that, though summoning him again did teleport him to the new spot and restore the expected behavior. 173.239.218.7 05:27, 20 May 2018 (UTC)
