Avarya is a High Elf found in the Brass Fortress. She'll be outside the entrance to Slag Town. She creates the lodestones used by the residents of Slag Town to collect metal fibers to make makeshift air filters among other things.

Dialogue[edit]

When Razgurug has a quest available she will say.

"I don't know if you've noticed, but Slag Town could use a lot of help. If you've got a minute, you should talk to Razgurug. He'll have a task for you. Guarantee it.

During the related quest, Razgurug will ask you to ask her for more information

"Razgurug's got you looking for metallic fibers? Good. The air in slag town is not getting any cleaner"
Can you tell me more about these metallic fibers?
"Most don't like to talk about it, but Slag Town's air is poison. Topside, the factotums rotate air filters constantly—but not in Slag Town. So I pick up the slack.
Turns out the metallic fibers weaved in Clockwork clothing make great air filters."
Are there any other uses for the fibers?
"Oh, sure. Can make abrasive scrubbers out of them, armor lining, cables, hazard masks … all kinds of things.
Of course, by the time I've replaced all the filters, I barely have more than a handful left. It's maddening."
What can you tell me about this lodestone?
"Ah, that. Quite a wonder. See, when you switch it on, metal scraps stick to it like tar on a glove. I'd love the thing if it didn't break so damned often.
If you gather the parts I need, I can keep it working, and maybe even make new ones."
Why does the clothing here have metal fibers?
"Like most things in Clockwork, our clothing is given to us by Seht's grace. It's hard to notice at first glance, but our manufactured cloth is woven with metallic threads. Still not sure why, but hey, don't mock the polish of a gifted spring."
Why don't you gather them from the clothing you already have?
"Once you take out the metallic threads the entire cloth begins to unravel. And trust me when I say that the clothing we have is already threadbare as it is.
There is plenty of discarded scraps in the radius for my needs, provided we get the proper help."

After you have collected the fibers and lodestones for her, she will thank you.

"I got to work on those air filters as soon as you returned. No more hacking up back phlegm … for now at least. Thanks"
