"Trolls blood, shut your trap!"
A shady character named Naril Heleran contacted me at Davon's Watch. He said we could both profit if I "procured" a rare and expensive bottle of wine for him.

Quick Walkthrough[edit]

  1. Talk with Naril Heleran.
  2. Go to the Fish Stink.
  3. Ask the bar patrons about distracting the bartender.
  4. (Optional) Talk with Hectur the Fish about the wine.
  5. Set up a distraction and "procure" the bottle.
  6. Return to Naril.

Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

Meet with Naril Heleran on the street who will tell you about a lucrative business deal he has in mind. It seems that the local bartender of the Fish Stink is a Nord named Hectur the Fish and he has a bottle of the rare Tears of Amaya, but he won't sell it. Naril asks you to replace it with a copy so that he can sell the real bottle to a buyer who will pay handsomely for it.

When you arrive at the Fish Stink, talk with the two Argonian bar patrons nearby. Niima will tell you that there are rats down on the docks that Hectur hates and Deep-in-Cups will inform you that Hectur hates singing drunks and that he only likes "beautiful voices." You can talk with Hectur about the Tears of Amaya if you'd like and he'll spin you a tale about how he cut down a dozen Bretons while swimming to get the wine.

If you question Hrantin and Buram Sarani they will tell you that Hectur likes Valen Andrethi but Valen does have habit to sing when he is drunk. Valen does like Alto wine, which is why Hector doesn't sell any. However, Buram will point you to the docks where you can find a bottle of the Alto wine in a crate. When you get the bottle speak with Valen and give him the wine. He will start singing and Hector will leave the bar to shut him up. Then you can switch the bottles.

The other option is a distraction involving rats. Travel down near the dock and catch a wharf rat scampering about. Return to the Fish Stink and release the rat into the crowd. While Hectur runs away from the bar to trap the rat, quickly swap the real bottle of Tears of Amaya with the fake one.

Return to Naril with the bottle and he'll reward you.
