Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

The quest can be started by speaking to Healer Senar at the refugee camp north of Muth Gnaar, or Acolyte Krem west of Muth Gnarr near the Grove of the Abomination. If started with Krem, he will be in a panic and tell you briefly about the recent attack on the monastery before directing you to Healer Senar.

Healer Senar is at the refugee camp overseeing the few monks and afflicted people who were able to make it out of Muth Gnarr. He tells you that the monks use the Tear of Saint Veloth to help those afflicted with the Llodos plague, but the Vereansu Ashlander tribe attacked the monastery and killed many monks and afflicted alike and set the monastery on fire. Without free access to the Tear, the monks are not able to help the plague victims, and many succumbed to the disease, becoming plague husks. Worse still, the leader of the order, Dolril Belvayn is missing. Senar mentions that Dolril is constantly getting into trouble in his efforts to save others, and asks that you find him.

As you enter Muth Gnarr, you will see hostile plague husks all around the area. You can fight or avoid them to get to the first collapsed building in the north of town. Inside, a monk is still helping a sickly Dunmer woman. Dolril dismisses Healer Senar's concerns about his safety and reaffirms his belief that he wants to save as many people as possible. You can offer to rescue the captives in his stead, at which point he will agree and lead the afflicted woman to the camp outside of town.

Continue through the monastery looking for monks and afflicted commoners tied up in there burning buildings of the village. You will also have to contend with hostile plague husks and Ashlanders as you go along. Be aware that some buildings will contain both a monk and a commoner, so keep an eye out.

Stop the Wise-Woman from destroying the Tear of Saint Veloth

Once you have saved your fifth person, Healer Hlaren will run up to you and deliver some bad news: Dolril was captured by the Vereansu and tied up in a burning building. She will beg you to save him, so follow your quest marker to the house on the east side of the village. Several Ashlanders will be out front, including Ashlander witches who summon destructible totems which give them buffs. You will not be able to enter the house through the flames in the front, but a walk at the back of the house has collapsed to allow you to jump in. Inside, Dolril is bound on the floor. You can cut him free, but he refuses to leave before the Tear of Saint Veloth is safe.

You can follow Dolril to the monastery next door. Inside, a few more Ashlanders are making trouble, but Dolril directs your attention to the basement. He runs down the stairs to save the Tear. When you get down, Dolril has been blown across the room and an Ashlander wise woman is trying to destroy the Tear. She fights like the witches outside, summoning the titems as well. When she has been defeated, you can collect the Tear of Saint Veloth from the table.

Dolril was only stunned by the wise woman, but is grateful that you were able to recover the Tear. He reluctantly requests that you finish the job—while the leader of the Vereansu lives, the attacks will continue. It pains him, but he asks you to kill Ashkhan Ginasa and end the Vereansu.

The Ashkhan is waiting for you outside his yurt in the camp west of Muth Gnarr. As you approach, he will threaten you and attack. Kill him and return to Dolril at the refugee camp north of Muth Gnarr to tell him the good news. While he regrets it had to come to such violence, he is appreciative that you saved the monks and their holy relic and rewards you with a sum of gold and a frost staff.
