Pierre Lanier is a Breton prisoner found at Cumberland's Watch. When the Stonechewer goblin attacked the fort, the Watch were too preoccupied to let him out.

When he is approached, Pierre will be heard to yell, "They're going to find me and kill me, I just know it!"

Once he is spoken to:

"You've got to help me. Those Goblins will eat me!"

What do you want me to do?

"The Watch soldiers threw me in here just before the Goblins attacked. You've got to help me!"

How can I unlock this?

"The soldier that locked me up headed towards the stables and took the key with him.
Find him before the Goblins find me!"

I'll look for the key.

Pierre can be further questioned once Rat in a Trap has been started.

"Hurry! Find the key!
One of those dead soldiers might have it. Did you check them?"

How did you get locked up?

"It was all a mistake! I meant to pay for that chainmail, I really did.
The silvered sword, too. I was just trying out before making them an offer. Honest! I'm a legitimate businessman."

Once the key has been retrieved:

"Did you find a key? There must be one around here somewhere!"

"Thank Kynareth! I thought I'd get eaten by a Goblin for sure.

When is Pierre is freed he will shout "I'm getting out of here!" before disappearing.
