Disgruntled assistants
Clanmother Shuzura has apparently been very hard on her assistants. There are problems in the little town of S'ren-ja. Perhaps I can help out.

Quick Walkthrough[edit]

  1. Talk to Clanmother Shuzura.
  2. Decide which villager to help.

Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

As soon as you approach the outskirts of S'ren-ja, you meet a Khajiit assistant who really seems to need your help. The Khajiit you meet depends on your location : Zal-sa on the north road, Tazia on the south road, and Semusa in the south field. As you try to know how you can help, they will each give their own opinion on town and problems within.

Zal-sa will be apathetic and tells you he quits his job :

"Zal-sa is done. You can tell Clanmother Shuzura that he has quit.
Tazia may be able to deal with all this work. Zal-sa cannot!"
What are you talking about?
"Two moons. He thought you were sent to find Zal-sa. Clanmother Shuzura has run us ragged for weeks. No wonder her last assistant quit. That Rakhad had the right idea!
Zal-sa is off to try to find a job with Hadran. Or perhaps cleaning stalls at Thizzrini Arena."
Perhaps I can help the Clanmother instead?
"Bright moons light your path, if you want to try. Clanmother Shuzura holds court in the biggest house in town.
Just let no one say Zal-sa did not warn you."
As you say, Zal-sa.

After what you can ask him questions about the town, and the last assistant, Rakhad, who has also quit his job recently.

Tazia will be tired and tries to get your help repairing the bridge :

"Bright moons, traveler. Welcome to our little town of S'ren-ja.
Tazia does not suppose you'd like to help her fix the bridge?"
Not particularly. What's wrong?
"Apologies, I'm just a little tired. Clanmother Shuzura's last assistant, Rakhad, quit very suddenly, and Tazia has had to scramble. Many things to fix, many problems that need solving."
Problems? What kind of problems?
"Oh, you know. This is a small town. Even the smallest issue becomes a matter for waterhole chitter-chatter.
If you are not a carpenter, perhaps you would be willing to take on some of these problems? Speak with the Clanmother?"
I could do that. Where can I find her?
"Bright moons light your path, my new friend! Clanmother manages town business from her office at home.
You cannot miss it, the largest building in town."

You can ask her the same questions you could have done with Zal-sa, but she'll answer in her own way.

Semusa will be sitting in the fields, having had his amount of work for a lifetime :

"I've had it. Clanmother Shuzura? She can sit in the fields and rot for all I care. Tazia may be able to deal with all this work. Semuse[verification needed — see talk page] cannot!"
What are you talking about?
"Sorry, sorry. I thought you were supposed to find me. Clanmother Shuzura has run us ragged for weeks. No wonder Rakhad quit. Her last assistant had the right idea!"
Perhaps I can help the Clanmother instead?
"Sure, that sounds like a great idea! If you want to try. Clanmother Shuzura talks to the little people in the biggest house in town. Just let no one say Semusa did not warn you."
As you say.

No matter who you met, you'll still have to go to Clanmother's House to see by yourself what you can do to help people in this town. At first, she'll mistake you for a villager and state she's too busy to listen to you now :

"Shuzura will hear your problem, but you must wait your turn. Do you not see all these people before you?"
Actually, I was sent to help you.
"Tazia sent you? Or Zal-sa? For what purpose? What have those lazy attendants done?
Nothing has gone right since Rakhad … but never mind. What do you mean?"
You're having some problems, right? Can I help?
"Hmm. Perhaps. Lately a few of our clanmates have been on my doorstep day and night. If you were to investigate, Shuzura could get some real work done."
Just point me in their direction.
"Excellent. My three loudest kittens are Milk Eyes, Ezzag, and Kalari."

Which one you help first is your choice, but you can ask her some more questions about the problems they face to help you make a decision :

What's Milk Eyes's problem?
"The clan knows Milk Eyes as a crotchety blind man, but really he's a sweet old cat. Rats now live in his well, he says.
Shuzura is very fond, truth be told, and she does not want him hunting rats in the dark."
What is Ezzag complaining about?
"Ezzag is always complaining about something. This week, he says someone is stealing his crops.
Shuzura thinks it is the local children playing jokes, but he is sure bandits stalk his fields."
How can I help Kalari?
"Poor little Kalari. Of late she's had bright moons and dark, both. Her uncle passed away, but left her his old house. She tried to move in … and now swears the place is haunted."

Now all you've left to do is get to work !

* Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g., <Alias=LocationHold>) is dynamically set by the game and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
