Plurality[edit]

The other 3 card type pages (Actions, Items and Creatures) are plural. I think it would be best for consistency to rename/move this page to Supports or we rename the other pages to be singular. --Ilaro (talk) 10:32, 17 November 2017 (UTC)

Support in the right context is plural, and supports is not always the correct pluralization of the word. I think I'm correct when I call its usage here as an adjective, which means Support is the only plural applicable. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 18:56, 17 November 2017 (UTC)
In Legends, support is mostly used as a substitution of "support cards" just like how creatures is used in place "creature cards". A common sentence could be: "I played two supports this match." in which case it is used as a noun and countable (in contrast to the use of support in "support system" for example). I am not entirely sure if that is applicable to the title of this page though. --Ilaro (talk) 01:04, 18 November 2017 (UTC)
I created this page and the 3 others linked, and I chose this form on purpose. Silencer is correct that "support" is the right plural in this context - e.g. tech support vs tunnel supports. These cards are not "supports", they are support cards. I'm okay with moving them all to the singular form though if people prefer. —Legoless (talk) 17:36, 19 November 2017 (UTC)
After some searching, I found that the game itself uses "supports" instead of "support": Cauldron Keeper and Tower Alchemist. --Ilaro (talk) 18:07, 19 November 2017 (UTC)
Well, if the game uses it then I can't object. —Legoless (talk) 22:15, 25 November 2017 (UTC)
I support this change to supports, because we should always follow in-game conventions over any particular grammar style. This term is used as jargon, so most grammar rules are irrelevant. I'm also in favor of plurals over singular forms because that's how we do it in other namespaces (Skyrim:Items, Skyrim:Creatures, etc.) I know there are differences in how Legends treats these, but it's nice to keep things predictable if possible. —Dillonn241 (talk) 23:28, 25 November 2017 (UTC)
