Anutwyll is an Ayleid ruin located on the western shore of the Niben Bay at the mouth of the Larsius River, just north of Bravil. It roughly translates to Anu's Well in Ayleidoon.

History[edit]

Following the fall of the White-Gold Tower in 1E 243 at the end of the Alessian Slave Rebellion, the clan of Anutwyll escaped largely intact as they fled southwest beneath the canopy of Valenwood. They are presumed to settled there and adopted the Green Pact under the terms of the native Bosmer, eventually being absorbed into their local population.

Circa 2E 582, the entrance to Anutwyll was sealed, though its well was still active. The nearby military stronghold of Castle Bloodmayne and Temple for the Elder Scroll of Mnem were located just to the west and southwest of the ruins respectively, having been the sites of much contention during the Alliance War.

By 3E 433 the ruins had been opened, but its subterranean halls crawled with monsters. Carandial, a Mages Guild scholar, camped out near the ruins and explored them to study Ayleid society.
