Bantam Guars

Bantam Guar are small, docile creatures native to Morrowind, that are part of the scuttler family. They are also commonly called "ugly chickens" due to their appearance and behavior, and like chickens, are raised for eggs and meat. Despite the name, they are not related to guar. They are, however, related to cliff racers and cliff darters. Unlike their cousins, bantam guar cannot fly.

Declared the cutest creature in Tamriel by the Cult of the Ancestor Moth, it is only natural for plushies created in their image to be used as a toy for children. Aside from the common brown-colored bantam guar, variants exist. In the spice island of Esroniet, the Hot Pepper Bantam Guar can be found, sporting a look fitting of the island's staple foods. The discovery of a pale variety of bantam guar with icy blue eyes in the cold north has led some to speculate that this kind came from Atmora, however, the famed scholar Phrastus believes that these theories are unlikely.

Bantam Guars not only inhabit Tamriel, but can be found in the realms of Oblivion, where they display traits reminiscent of the realms they dwell in. Take into account the contrasting appearances of the Coldharbour and Deadlands bantam guars, with the former being cold and azure, and the latter having rustic and volcanic traits.

Notes[edit]

  • As noted in the Wikipedia article, a Bantam is a smaller than standard variety of fowl, such as a chicken or duck.
