Last heir of the Telvanni

I actually think that this could be something else. I don't think that the book is saying he is the last heir of Great House Telvanni at all, rather, he is the last with the name. There are Dunmer named Dres, Indoril, Hlaalu, etc, why not Telvanni? He could be the last of THAT line, which would make this book perfectly in line with the events of Dragonborn, as Neloth is from a family other than the Telvanni line, while still being a member of Great House Telvanni.
