Wrong[edit]

There is so, so much wrong with this page. There is nothing that says the Hist come from a realm of "Oblivion." Only that they come from somewhere else, maybe one of the 12 Worlds of Creation. There is nothing that says Black Marsh is part of a realm of Oblivion (how does that even make sense?)

The page needs to be entirely re-written or deleted out right. — Unsigned comment by NordJitsu (talkcontribs) at 19:59 on 31 October 2013‎

Have you read Lord of Souls, it is clearly implied, if not outright stated that the Hist are related to the trees that makeup Umbra. Read The Annotated Anuad; it also clearly states that Black Marsh is made of a small chunk of the Hist's realm. Things need not make sense in the real-world when talking about how things happened in a game. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 20:08, 31 October 2013 (GMT)
"Yes,” he replied. “Some of my people believe that the Hist came to Tamriel from Oblivion. Umbriel is from Oblivion, too, so it doesn’t seem too far-fetched to me that they could be cousins.”
SOME people. It's a theory at most. It being portrayed as fact here is careless — Unsigned comment by 98.206.111.162 (talk) at 20:27 on 31 October 2013 (GMT)
Changing the wording slightly would be appropriate to point this out. Deleting it would be ridiculous. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 20:27, 31 October 2013 (GMT)
No evidence is given on the contrary, and Umbriel's banishment to a realm filled with Hist seems to confirm the "theory". Calling it a realm of Oblivion is far less outrageous than a "World of Creation", whatever that is. We don't even have a name for this place, but it clearly needs an article. —Legoless (talk) 23:30, 31 October 2013 (GMT)
Neither is there any evidence that it is. There is indeed a theory that states this; but the theory that names it as one of the worlds of creation is equally legit if you ask me. There is also a theory stating the realm of the hist is from another kalpa or from another Amaranth (the latter is also widely accepted among lorebeards); whatever theory you believe to be the least "outrageous" doesn't mean it is true. Wherever it comes from, it still might have to traverse Oblivion if it needs to come from outside of the Aurbis, as Mundus is subgradient to Oblivion. Therefore a piece of the realm could as well have landed in Vile's realm. Therefore, any theory should be allowed, and this wiki page falsely creates the impression that the Oblivion theory is the only true one. Can please someone update this?--MalaAda (talk) 14:15, 4 June 2016 (UTC)
There are no official sources regarding the Hist and kalpas/Amaranth. As for the "worlds of Creation", we have no information on them outside of this book, which make it quite clear that they are separate from Nirn. The Oblivion theory is the only one which holds water, and the only one with a solid source. I've added this note so that the "worlds of Creation" phrase is at least mentioned on the page, but there's little meaning to extract from it other than its pseudo-obscure wording. —Legoless (talk) 18:57, 4 June 2016 (UTC)
