Should the abridged text be entered on this page? Right now, only the full version exists, and it might be worth having both just for comparison. (I'm curious how they were able to boil it down to half the number of volumes.) --TheRealLurlock 10:10, 16 August 2006 (EDT)

I think it's worth including alternate versions of books if there are significant differences between them. It seems like the game designers do like to rewrite history a bit between games (at least based on the different versions of the Pocket Guide to the Empire), so being able to compare different versions could be interesting. --Nephele 12:17, 16 August 2006 (EDT)
Having now read four versions of Barenziah's history in one evening, I can report that actually the 5-volume version that appears in Morrowind and Oblivion is not shorter than the Daggerfall 10-volume version. Other than the one censored passage, the M/O version contains more details than the D version. It's just that they merged several volumes into one, thus making the volumes much longer. So I've renamed this version from "abridged" to "revised", and uploaded all the M/O volumes so anyone else who wants to compare them can. --Nephele 01:45, 16 September 2006 (EDT)

I'm a little confused about the story, and I figured this is the place to ask. Am I understanding right that Nightingale is Jagar Tharn is the fake Emperor? I've only played Morrowind and Oblivion, so I'm guessing Tharn is part of another game, since I've heard alot about him. Nicho.Krown 22:40, 6 December 2006 (EST)

Yes, this is the main quest in Arena, the first Elder Scrolls title. I assume the 'mysterious champion' in the books is the player character from Arena.
