Person infobox[edit]

Does it really make sense to use the person infobox on this page? Silvenar is a title, not a specific person, so birth/death dates, residence, name, etc are all irrelevant and constantly changing, plus due to the specific nature of the role it doesn't make sense to have a set gender definition either. -- Hargrimm(T) 22:51, 20 April 2014 (GMT)

I agree. Jeancey (talk) 23:06, 20 April 2014 (GMT)
I think the Silvenar is always male, just like the Green Lady is always. well...a lady. 86.145.198.151 23:19, 20 April 2014 (GMT)
The Silvenar is female when the majority of Bosmer are female. Or so the legends say. The Silvenar, in this context, is best understood as a persona, like the Gray Fox and possibly the Night Mother. If an infobox is inappropriate here, it follows logically that one would be inappropriate on all persona pages, and I don't agree with that. Infoboxes give the (illusory) appearance of professionalism; it's important to utilize them if at all feasible. What I see here are not reasons to get rid of the infobox, but reasons to incorporate and/or utilize new infobox parameters appropriate for personae pages. I don't think it is a persona. In game, there is no one claiming that the current Silvenar is the same person as the previous one. Silvenar is the same as the Pope, there are individual popes, with their own names, but they are all called Pope. The people in game even refer to the current silvenar and previous silvenars by their real names, on occasion. I think the a title is an apt description of what The Silvenar is, and makes it distinct from the Night Mother or the Gray Fox (both of which people in game believe to be the same person throughout history, even when the ACTUAL person changes as seen in Oblivion). Just semantics. Note "in this context". Just arguing that there is no fundamental reason to avoid having infoboxes on these types of pages. Insignificant RevisionsThreatsEvidence 23:47, 20 April 2014 (GMT)
