Other Wilderkings[edit]

I reverted the recent change to the page. There have been other Wilderkings/queens before the current one, per this line of dialogue fron Shrouded Vale: "There have been other Wilderqueens in the past as well. Our oath remains unchanged, even if the individual is new to the title." The confusion seems to be caused by conflicting sources describing Ostion as both the first and the current Wilderking, but the implication that he was the first ever is relatively weak and is clearly contradicted. We might want to note this discrepancy, but the current version of the page is the most accurate from the sources I've looked at. It would also help to add stronger sources other than "Events", but that's a serious pain with ESO dialogue. —Legoless (talk) 12:59, 8 May 2017 (UTC)

Undone change concerning Oridion[edit]

Why was my edit undone? I think it is important to add the information about Ostion as it is about the Wilderkings origin and about his nature (that he is the union of the mortal Ostion and the immortal Valenwood). These information are one of the most important, I tink they should be in this article, not in another about Ostion or different. They contain key information about the Wilderking. 217.94.194.209 14:26, 24 February 2018 (UTC)

One thing is that your changes did scramble the historical chronology in the article, and as such made it less easy to follow. The other thing is that Ostion is only one (or possibly actually two) of a long row of Wilderkings and Wilderqueens. What is further confusing here is that in the game Ostion is used as the name both of the first Wilderking and the current. Depending on how important this fight is for the later Wilderkings and Wildequeens, and we do not really know if it is, it can of course be argued for a brief inclusion in the article, but in my opinion probably rater under the article on Sumiril or maybe under a new article about Ostion himself (possibly the first Ostion, if so).
The fight you refer in your additions seems be about the first Wilderking, but if so, it should be added before the text "Some time before 1E 2920, […]", and not after "In 2E 582, during the establishment of the first Aldmeri Dominion, […]". It might be relevant after "In 2E 582, […]", if it were about the current Wilderking, but then it is even less important for the institution of Wilderking/Wilderqueen as such, and it will then be hard to argue for the addition of it. Even then it gives no meaning to move "Some time before 1E 2920, […]" after it.
I can not speak for others, but if you could manage to pull that off in a good way, as in both keep the chronology, and be suitably brief on the story of the fight, I will not object to such changes. —MortenOSlash (talk) 19:05, 24 February 2018 (UTC)
(edit conflict) Ostion is already mentioned on the page, but his origin story as both the current and the first Wilderking conflicts with other sources that claim there were many before the current one. —Legoless (talk) 19:06, 24 February 2018 (UTC)
