Quick Walkthrough

1. Speak to Edryno Arethi for business.
2. Go to the Hlaalu Treasury to deliver a sealed report.
3. Give the report to Baren Alen.
4. Return to Edryno Arethi.

Detailed Walkthrough

Business

Edryno Arethi in her house in the Hlaalu Waistworks in Vivec will ask to deliver a sealed report to Baren Alen at the Hlaalu Vaults within the Treasury just across the waistworks.

The Delivery

It is just a simple job of going there and giving it to him. The Treasury can be found across the waistworks, on the same level as Arethi's house. Once the report is delivered, return to Arethi to complete the quest.

Notes

• If you open the report, Alen will notice. You'll sacrifice the reward and cause his disposition to drop by ten points (instead of increasing). Arethi's disposition also drops by ten. You can re-seal the report, but your chance of success depends on your Security skill. At any rate, the report is in code, and to date, there is no known translation for it.
• Alen sells the land deed you need to get the Hlaalu stronghold. You can buy the report back if you're of high enough rank in House Hlaalu.

Bugs

• You can get this quest whether you belong to House Hlaalu or not.
  • This bug is fixed by the Morrowind Patch Project.
• If you load a saved game where you have the opened reports in your inventory, you will read it, the paper sound may play over and over again, and you will not be able to close it again. ^?
  • To fix this problem, just remove it from your inventory (player->RemoveItem "bk_treasuryreport" 1) and then add it again if you still need/want it (player->AddItem "bk_treasuryreport" 1). This will give you another sealed copy.
