Columns[edit]

The weight and monetary values of Alchemical Ingredients are reversed. A simple fix would be to just switch the symbols at the column headers. DTravel 23:28, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

That should do it. The value/weight columns were switched in the template used for the table. Dlarsh 23:51, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Except two tables on Oblivion:Ingredients and one table on Oblivion:Deepscorn Hollow Items used the original column order, and were messed up when the template was edited. I flipped the column headers instead. --NepheleTalk 00:39, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, I didn't know it was used in Oblivion pages. I just compared it to the rest of the Morrowind item lists and figured that images were correct, but the info was mixed up. Sorry again. -Dlarsh 01:37, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
Just make sure you click the "What Links Here" whenever you are editing templates, because you can really mess things up (I know from experience). –Elliot talk 01:41, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
My bad - I didn't notice the columns were the other way around from the Oblivion ones when I switched to the new template. –rpehTCE 06:26, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

Unexplained Markers, missing key list[edit]

Some harvest chances (H%) are italic, in brackets and/or marked with a "*" but I can't find a legend/key telling what that means. Also the italic and background coloration explanation for effects could go into such a key. FeXoR (talk) 08:57, 22 June 2019 (UTC)

The markings were coming from the individual ingredient pages with no consideration of the confusion they could cause here. I've reduced them all to just an asterisk and added a sentence at the top. The only displayed value should be the standard rate. Rates for unique and limited quantity versions should be kept to the ingredient pages, not transcluded with no explanation of why there is a difference here. I guess that solves it then. Just... how is deleting answered sections in discussion pages handled? :p Do they just add up? Can I at least delete sections I asked and consider solved? Best regards FeXoR (talk) 21:59, 30 June 2019 (UTC)

What are special ingredients?[edit]

This is entirely unexplained, and I'm left wondering. I can see differences like ingred_bread_01 becomes ingred_bread_01_UNI2, but what are these, where do they come from, and what are they for? ——24.4.100.251 18:47, 1 January 2021 (UTC)

They're ingredients that are either unique or only found in a few limited locations. Robin Hood(talk) 18:57, 1 January 2021 (UTC)

Mobile friendly table proposal[edit]

I mocked up a mobile friendly layout for this article's tables: View in Minerva.

  • On mobile, icons would stay full size, not shrink to unrecognizable 4x4 pixels
  • On mobile, long descriptions would no longer overflow, so no horizontal scrolling needed mid-sentence
  • On widescreen, table wouldn't stretch to 100% width, potentially too widely spaced to read comfortably
  • Icons and adjacent text would combine as a single tap/click target, instead of two smaller targets
  • In Google search results, duplicate or scrambled table rows should eventually get fixed

To minimize typos, a template should populate the data, as with the current page. But other than the data, is this layout a good starting point? What other tweaks might help? Rigel Kent (talk) 04:37, 21 February 2022 (UTC)

Even ignoring mobile issues, I think this is a much better layout. It's more consistent with other tables on the site and I daresay it's easier to read as well. Thanks for taking this on! Robin Hood(talk) 01:07, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
