Silmarillion Reference[edit]

I've just removed the following line from the article:

  • This name is prossibly a reference to the Manwe[1] from The Silmarillion.

For those who don't know the book, Manwe in the Silmarillion is the most powerful of the "good" Ainur, the guardians of Middle Earth. He is essentially the god of wind and is the third most powerful entity in existence. In contrast, Manwe in Morrowind is a woman and a relatively low level sorcerer with no relevance to the game outside this one quest. Given this disparity, I think it's far more likely that the Bethesda name generator threw up a coincidence than that someone made a genuine reference. –RpehTCE 03:47, 30 May 2008 (EDT)

time[edit]

in the journal it says she hasnt paid in 3 months but on the guide it says she hasnt paid in several years is this a error or something ranis says? (Eddie the head 10:57, 27 February 2011 (UTC))

When giving you the quest, Ranis tells you "Manwe has failed to pay her dues for several years, and she now owes us over 2000 septims.", but obviously the journal disagrees with that. I'll add a note. rpeh •TCE 12:31, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

Journal Entry 30[edit]

No matter how low her disposition is, I can't seem to get this journal entry: "Manwe says that she is no longer a member of the Mages Guild and refuses to pay the dues." I always get the "Manwe suggested that I pay the gold myself." instead. — Unsigned comment by 112.202.26.86 (talk) on 13 October 2011

You're right - there's no way to get that. I've added a note. Thanks for pointing that out. rpeh •TCE 12:29, 13 October 2011 (UTC)

Implied dues[edit]

I've removed this line:

  • Though it's implied by this quest that one must pay dues in order to join the Mages Guild, nobody ever charges you any such dues for joining.

from the notes section of the page, as once you reach conjurer rank you do indeed need to pay dues. — Unsigned comment by Xolroc (talkcontribs) at 14:41 on 31 August 2013

That's a one time payment and not a membership fee though. The original sentence was correct and should be reinserted, maybe slightly reworded. --95.91.209.15 16:49, 16 July 2017 (UTC)
