Closing the Quest[edit]

I get unfinished journal entries for the two "corrupt" fighter's guild members in the basement of Vivec Foreign Quarter Fighter's Guild. I forget their proper names: the nord guildmaster/trainer in collusion with the Camona-Tong and one of his supporters, the orc merchant/trainer in the previous room. Not sure what stages are required to get them out of my journal book. First I talked to them, didn't like their quests, and talked to former guildmaster Percius Mercius in the Ald'Rhun Fighter's Guild who gave me quests to kill these two boneheads. Now I'm guildmaster but no idea how to remove these old entries. Buggy Journal system should have had better dependency checks. - Warp9pnt9

I'm afraid there is no "official" way to close these quests in game, as you have left them open by accepting them and not doing them. The only way is to cheat with the Console to close them, using the Journal command. --DrPhoton 03:19, 27 November 2007 (EST)

If You're in The TG...[edit]

What happens? Do you have to kill them anyway? What?--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 20:20, 19 October 2010 (UTC)

You would have to kill them if you want to finish this quest. Personally, I have never done the quests of either of the Vivec Fighters Guild questers though. --Brf 20:26, 19 October 2010 (UTC)

About being on the Thieves Guild's side...[edit]

The third note on this page reads: "If you are on the Thieves Guild's side, you can receive the 5,000 gold stipend before killing Sjoring Hard-Heart. Said stipend will not be found on his corpse." To me, being on the Thieves Guild's side implies that you do NOT kill those three bosses... How on earth would you get the 5000 Septims stipend for NOT doing your job??? So EITHER this note is an error, OR it is incomplete without the explanation of how to get the stipend.

From reading the Walkthrough I get it that you get the 5000 gold by simply accepting the quest. If you want to get this gold, you have to start this quest before doing either instance of Kill Hard-Heart, but you don't have to finish this one (expecially if Sjoring is already dead...) -- SarthesArai Talk 16:50, 18 February 2015 (GMT)
Hahaha, if Sjoring is dead I don't see him pay *any* stipends, indeed. So never mind finishing his quest in that case. But I have yet to see any quest giver who will pay you for the job BEFORE you've finished it. Sjoring would be either the FIRST or the ONLY one to do so. Carnice (talk) 22:44, 19 February 2015 (GMT)
It isn't a reward, per say. He knows you will need to commit murders in order to do this. The 5000 gold is to cover the inevitable costs of getting caught. Jeancey (talk) 08:00, 20 February 2015 (GMT)
