Curing the Kwama Queen[edit]

I removed the note about no feedback when the queen is cured because the game does provide feedback, at least in the PC GOTY version. When i cured the queen in my game, the journal was updated stating so. Mortzestus 20:43, 13 June 2007 (EDT)

Bandits in Zainsipilu[edit]

"If you have killed the bandits in question before you receive this quest, you will get stuck at this point and you won't be able to get your stronghold up to level 3"

The above note was recently added, but I seem to remember (from a while ago) that I cleared out Zainsipilu fairly early on and had no problems completing my stronghold. Can anybody confirm either way? --Gaebrial 08:39, 8 April 2008 (EDT)

The one time I played that sli.. eh, honorable House Hlaalu, I also had killed the Bandits long before. The foreman just said: "You've already taking care of them? Wonderful!" and continued building. This was on GTOY Xbox version. -BenouldTC 12:10, 8 April 2008 (EDT)
That is right. The only thing that you won't get if you clean up Zainsipilu before getting the mission to do so is the offered fighting NPC, Fjorgeir (you don't have to bring him to Zainsipilu in any case to complete that quest, in which case he will stay at Rethan Manor's entrance). That was true with both PC versions I had of the game, including GOTY. (MVictorP, April 13 2008)
Removed the note from main page. -BenouldTC 02:38, 13 April 2008 (EDT)
I encountered this problem on the original Xbox Morrowind edition (non-GOTY). I think it was fixed in the GOTY edition, because no one has seemed to bump into. -Pink Bob88 20:14, 9 November 2008 (EST)

Abusive edit comments[edit]

People make innocent mistakes in earnest, don't abuse them for it. I don't care if you've had a bad day, hate your job, your life sucks, just chill out. NO-ONE is perfect.

Hiring Miners[edit]

I had already cured the Kwama Queen when I went to Tel Aruhn to hire Llaals Ores and Savile Imayn charged me 200 gold for him. Tdf4638 09:01, 13 December 2009 (UTC)

I don't even get the option to hire him. I can speak to him and he'll say he wants the job, but Savile Imayn says she's not selling miners, and I can't even use the console to add "Llaals Ores" as a conversation topic. ComaDivine 03:01, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

A separate page[edit]

Shouldn't there be a separate page on each stronghold, only on the building not the quest? Maybe a page with a map, people, link to the quest to get the stronghold, and descriptions of each part of the manor? Probably not essential but still. Kinvalor75 21:40, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

They exist already. See Morrowind:Rethan Manor as an example. Legoless 22:11, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
Thanks I didn't know they even existed! Kinvalor75 00:36, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

Killed the Kwama Queen by mistake[edit]

I killed the kwama queen early in the game, without knowing that it would be involved in this quest. I tried getting it back trough console commands, cure it, but the guy in charge of the construction tells me that if the queen is dead, there is no way I can advance. Next I tried editing the savegames with the Enchanted Editor, but still the same result. Does anybody know of a way to rescue this quest?

Have you tried using console commands to proceed to the next step in the quest? --Velyanthe 22:27, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
I deleted all the cell info in the editor, went and "rediscovered" the mine interior, cured the queen, hired the miner, then returned to him. He wouldn't give me "Stage 170", so I advanced trough console. Then I waited 15 days and no result. The script spimly does not work. Would setting the stage to "200" put it on it's tracks again and?
Yes, setting the stage to 200 should work. --Velyanthe 22:36, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
Just 170 will sometimes work. I've added something to the Notes section about this, since it will be a common problem for "fight everything that moves" players, and it can easily happen accidentally when trying to despatch a hostile Kwama Warrior or Forager near the Queen when checking out the mine. — Darklocq  ¢ 06:51, 9 May 2017 (UTC)

Savile Imayn won't sell me the miner!!!![edit]

I'm on the miner stage and i had already killed Ilasour Tansumiran, so, no prob, just go buy the slave on Tel Ahrun. But the deal is that no matter what i say to Savile Imayn, she doesn't give me the option to buy Llaals Ores!!! WTF!!! I have talked to Llaals Ores and he has the option of hiring miners, but whenever i talk to the slavemaster she doesn't have the dialogue option to buy him!!! — Unsigned comment by Felipe light (talkcontribs) at 20:58 on 8 May 2013

Updating the quest stage to 150 will fix this. — Darklocq  ¢ 06:52, 9 May 2017 (UTC)

Living here as Telvanni[edit]

If i choose to join house Telvanni, complete it's quests. And then killing the occupant, Morrowind: Raynasa Rethan, and then exploit the glitch where you may become head of Hlaalu while talking to Duke Vedam Dren, i will be able live in Rethan Manor too right ?--The Hlaalu (talk) 17:14, 11 January 2014 (GMT)

Nothing really stopping you. Bed ownership might be an issue though. —Legoless (talk) 21:00, 11 January 2014 (GMT)

The miner did show up for work[edit]

"Whichever one you chose, return to Dondos afterwards and note that neither miner will actually go to the mine."

Not true in my case. I hired Ilasour Mansumiran for this and I found him in the mine, standing about saying things like "I'm never too busy for a good conversation". Hmm. I'm on PC GOTY.

Will update the article. — Darklocq  ¢ 06:54, 9 May 2017 (UTC)

Second Stronghold[edit]

I made an edit to this article explaining exactly what happens if you attempt to make a second stronghold and/or use console commands to force the quest to proceed. Also made an edit to the Glitches page containing the same information. DwarfWarden (talk) 21:17, 28 June 2019 (UTC)
