Unique one-handed long blades?[edit]

So there are no unique one-handed long blades? 76.107.55.66 09:48, 12 April 2008 (EDT)

Hmm, maybe Goldbrand and Eltonbrand should be here, even though the later is an Easter Egg. -BenouldTC 13:54, 12 April 2008 (EDT)
No, they're listed on Weapon Artifacts, and additionally have their own pages at Goldbrand and Eltonbrand. Unique items are specifically defined as those which there is only one of, but which use the same appearance as other generic items. Anything with a unique appearance is defined as an Artifact. --TheRealLurlock Talk 02:44, 13 April 2008 (EDT)

definition of unique[edit]

What exactly does "defined as those which there is only one of" mean? Only one with that name? Only one of its kind (axe, sword ect) with that particular effect? Or only one with that particular effect? Or all of the above? Just thinking the definitions of unique armors and weapons could use some (little) elaboration, just to make it extra clear. I found that I'm not the only one that's confused by the definition as it is now. (Correct me if I'm wrong) -Meisterdieb 15:36, 22 January 2009 (EST)

Pretty sure definition would be: an item that contains only one of its ID in the game, but uses generic graphics (used in other items)

banhammer.[edit]

for the sake of giving decent directions: The banhammer is west of Tel Ahruhn, before the coast. — Unsigned comment by Merari (talkcontribs) on 26 September 2009

A link is present for Morrowind:Arlowe which itself provides a link to the correct location on our Morrowind Online map. I think that is directions enough. --Timenn-<talk> 10:32, 1 October 2009 (UTC)

Yes, but, see, I play Morrowind on xbox, and there is no navigation thingy as there obviously is for pc there. On pc a location stated "10, 140" maybe very clear. I have always noted locations as, ie: : "se of Tel Aruhn, sw of Sadrith Mora" In this case, correct directions would be: w Tel Ahrun, before coast. Nnw Tel Fyr, Ese Falensareno.

I'm referring to a link such as this. Such links are present on all Places and NPC summaries. --Timenn-<talk> 13:23, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Dwemer Pneuma-Trap a Little too Unique[edit]

This choppamajigger seems unique in more than one way. I'm familiar with many people and places being named after ancient Assyrian and Babylonian references, but this is the only name of anything I've noticed being named using ancient Greek, ("pneuma" being Greek for breath or spirit). Another uniqueness I'm not too happy about is that it occasionally fails to cast its on-strike spell without explanation, (usually when I would least like it to fail), and I've never seen any other on-strike enchantment do that. Maybe that's why I used to make my own on-strike Soultrapping enchantments, instead of using this one. Downstrike (talk) 02:23, 24 March 2013 (GMT)

Uselessness of Enchantment on Bonebiter Bow[edit]

The article page is not the place for rebuttal, so it was correct to remove 24.242.44.136's remark: "Wrong - it casts when used, not cast when strikes. Use it like any other cast when used enchanted item."

However, 24.242.44.136 was correct. The only enchantments that are useless on bows are On-Strike enchantments, because a bow is never used to directly strike an opponent. If you try to attack using a bow without arrows, the game will do nothing beyond blinking a little. (Now, watch the game crash the next time I accidentally do that, just to spite me.)

As far as a When-Used enchantment, (regardless whether On-Target or On-Touch), is concerned, a bow is just another enchanted item. Since a bow cannot be used to shoot an arrow at the same time it's used to cast a When-Used enchantment, its functionality as a bow is not involved, so the fact that it does not directly strike the opponent when used for physical attack cannot hinder a When-Used enchantment.

If there is confusion between the target of an On-Target, (but not On-Strike), enchantment and the target of a bow enchanted with it, perhaps the difference should be explained on some appropriate page of the site.

(IMHO, the article was partially correct, because the Bonebiter Bow's enchantment is nearly useless for entirely different reasons, but I'm not interested in trying to prove that opinion.) Downstrike (talk) 07:23, 25 April 2013 (GMT)

I would like to point out that it says it is nearly useless, not completely useless. I believe that the article is 100% accurate in that assessment. Since you can't use the bow at the same time as the enchantment on it, the enchanted bow is nearly useless as a bow, or as an enchanted item. It has to be one or the other. Enchanted bows, in general, are fairly useless in that regard. Jeancey (talk) 07:38, 25 April 2013 (GMT)
I've already agreed that this bow's enchantment is nearly useless for reasons other than a perceived inability to cast the intended spell effect, and the inability to cast and fire the bow at the same is one possible reason. I simply didn't want to get sidetracked into a debate in support of my subjective opinion. Downstrike (talk) 06:36, 28 April 2013 (GMT)

Fury GotY[edit]

I'm using the GotY version of Morrowind and there the Fury Silver-Claymore has still (again ?) the "Damage skill" enchantment, I verified this with the Construction Set. So was the note claiming this "bug" was fixed ever verified?--PLRDLF (talk) 13:23, 23 January 2014 (GMT)

My version (steam GotY) has "Drain skill" in the cs (wrath_en), as has the version used for CSList. --Alfwyn (talk) 13:40, 23 January 2014 (GMT)
Probably it's because I'm not using the English version of the game, I thought that at least these things were identical for all versions of the game. And to be safe, I checked this again and neither the Tribunal nor the Bloodmoon expansion of my GoTY edition (DVD version) doesn't fix this.--PLRDLF (talk) 19:50, 23 January 2014 (GMT)

Fury[edit]

Since Fury both fortifies your attack and blinds you, do the effects cancel each other out? Or does the Fortify Attack enchantment work regardless of the Blinding effect? --Neekerisanni123 (talk) 19:24, 21 March 2015 (GMT)

Blind will still have a visual effect, i.e. your screen will get darker. —Legoless (talk) 19:42, 21 March 2015 (GMT)
