Glitch?[edit]

I took his glass boots and he was then wearing the expensive shoes. I don't know whether he is programmed to equip them at that point or whether he had both items already equipped, though.

As far as I know, NPCs in morrowind always equip the best equipment available to them for the specific slot - even if they're dead. So that's an engine bug you discovered. if you were to give him some leather boots, he would equip those - as would every other NPC corpse in the game. -- SarthesArai Talk 13:15, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
Yeah, that's true of all NPCs, and in fact can be a bit of a problem for merchants. If a merchant has an expensive piece of gear in their inventory, they will automatically equip it, meaning that they will not sell it to you unless you first sell them an even more expensive item for that slot. It also leads to comical glitches like Sirollus Saccus wearing armor designed specifically for female characters... — TheRealLurlock (talk) 13:51, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
Definitely a glitch; there's no reason for a character to equip items if they're dead. I'll update the page accordingly, seeing as how characters can't equip two footwear simultaneously.
