re: The note "Once you kill Bero, you'll receive a message about breaking the link of prophecy, but this doesn't matter since you've already finished the Main Quest."

Should this be reworded to be "Once you kill Bero, you'll receive a message about breaking the link of prophecy. This won't matter if you've already finished the Main Quest."? It's the word "since" that I don't like, because you may not have completed the Main Quest in which case killing Bero does matter. Rob-nick 06:58, 12 March 2010 (UTC)

Ignore that.... I can see now that you can't get the writ til after you complete the Main Quest. Rob-nick 07:06, 12 March 2010 (UTC)

Preconditions for receiving quest[edit]

I found the fact that the preconditions for receiving the writ for Dram Bero includes the requirement to "have not accepted either the Navil/Ranes Ienith or Brilnosu Llarys writs" a bit confusing, as it's contrary to the conditions for receiving all the other Grandmaster writs. I checked in the Construction Set and while the conditions are in fact described correctly for vanilla Morrowind, the conditions seem to be "fixed" (i.e. changed to be in line with the other Grandmaster Writ quests) if you have Tribunal and Bloodmoon installed. Maybe this should go on the quest page? 92.227.139.189 21:20, 17 April 2011 (UTC)Mach_Ten

Well spotted. I've moved that from the requirements into the notes. rpeh •TCE 09:48, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. The requirements are still incorrect, though. The GotY version does not remove the requirements of "not having accepted the Writ for Navil and Ranes Ienith and Writ for Brilnosu Llarys quests". It simply removes the "not" from the requirement. What it actually does in the Construction Set is that it changes the required quest stage for those two quests from "=0" to ">=100", which means a change from "You mustn't have started these quests" to "You need to have finished these quests". 89.204.153.178 11:03, 18 April 2011 (UTC)Mach_Ten
Please fix the page then. rpeh •TCE 11:12, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
Done. 89.204.153.178 11:29, 18 April 2011 (UTC)Mach_Ten
Although actually it makes more sense, if having killed the Ienith brothers were to prevent the Bero quest: this could be a struggle within House Hlaalu, between the pro-Camonna Tong faction led by Orvas Dren and the Ienith brothers, and the "honest businessman" faction of which Dram Bero is a prominent member - implying that it is Dren and the Ieniths who are behind the contract for Bero's murder. If the Ieniths are dead, and Orvas Dren out of power or also dead, then the people who would be taking the contract out on Bero are no longer in a position to do so... so I think this is one thing where the original intent, "quest only available if the Ienith brothers have not yet been killed", was not actually a bug but was intentional, and it's the fix that was incorrect?
