Weekday Names[edit]

I suggest that we put a translation for Turdas (and other days) for those of us who aren't the best or most in love with days in The Elder Scrolls... Just a suggestion.Drake3555 23:31, 12 May 2008 (EDT)

I don't see how that would help - the day in the game is given in Elder Scrolls terminology, so relating it to real-life days of the week in this article would be completely irrelevant. Anyhow, if you wanted to know what the days are equivalent to, that's what the Calendar page is for. --TheRealLurlock Talk 01:29, 13 May 2008 (EDT)
Actually some sort of a tip with regard to, if not what day of the week they are, at least whether they are consecutive days or not, would really be a help! -- 02:48, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
The link Lurlock provides should be sufficient enough, but perhaps the day names can be converted into links to the Calendar page. --Timenn-<talk> 20:12, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

Quest Repeatable?[edit]

Is this quest repeatable as the weeks go by? --Debatra 16:28, 11 June 2008 (EDT)

If you mean, "Can you collect the bounty for more bows?", then the answer is yes. Provided you keep killing Black Bow Bandits and bringing back their bows, you can collect money right through to the end of the game. --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 18:41, 11 June 2008 (EDT)

Does Mazoga have to be alive the whole time to keep it going? --Debatra 18:49, 11 June 2008 (EDT)

I don't believe so, no, though obviously the Count does. --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 18:53, 11 June 2008 (EDT)
No, in fact Mazoga can die before you finish with the quest to kill Black Brugo, though not before you turn in the quest to take her to Fisherman's Rock. Once you turn in the quest Black Brugo, if Mazoga is already dead you can loot her corpse again for her Leyawiin Shield and key. In reality the quest should be listed as being given by Marius Caro as opposed to Mazoga. Deadlykris 12:21, 10 October 2008 (EDT)

Mazoga and Black Bows[edit]

If you travel with Mazoga to find black bow bandits, does she take any of the black bows?Master264 23:40, 15 August 2008 (EDT)

No. I suppose it's theoretically possible that she would take one if her sword broke, but it's really, really unlikely. –RpehTCE 02:45, 16 August 2008 (EDT)
Actually, one time I encountered her coincidentally in Rockmilk Cave, dead, and she did indeed have a Black Bow on her - but only one. It was a long time ago so she may not have been dead, I may have been pickpocketing her, I don't remember clearly. At any rate if she does take any bows, it's limited to only one. Deadlykris 12:25, 10 October 2008 (EDT)
Today I tried to pickpocket her just to see, and she actually had five Black bows, two Glass daggers, one Elven arrow and one Daedric arrow. It seems she might pick up any loot. SwedishBerzerker at youtube.com 11:49, 14 March 2009 (EDT)
I happened to enter one of the Black Bow hangouts to find Mazoga had already killed the inhabitants. I noticed none of the corpses had bows on them and when she killed the last one she walk over too it like she was looting it. I'm pretty sure she takes the bows. Also, this article makes it sound like you need Mazoga to hunt the bandits when she's irrelevant. 15:00, 22 March 2009 (EDT)
Mazoga has a few AI packages for her Bandit-hunting. On Morndas, Middas and Turdas, at 2pm she'll head out to Telepe, Rockmilk Cave and Undertow Caverns respectively. She'll stick around for 16 hours trying to find 5 Black Bows. It's similar to the AI package that causes M'aiq to collect calipers. --Dalimyr(TC) 03:55, 23 March 2009 (EDT)
I can easily confirm this, at least for the Play Station 3 format, whenever she goes to an area she raids for black bow bandits, she systematically kills them all off. AFTER She killed ALL The Black Bow Bandits in the room, she walks back and loots all NPCs named "Black Bow Bandits" and takes their Black Bows. I tested this theory by placing a Black Bow in the inventory of a Black Bow Bandit, and sure enough, she went and picked it up. Roleplayer242621 22:33, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
Yeah I pickpocketed her and she has 5 black bows. I took all the bows and put them on a corpse and went off to another part of rockmilk cave. I came back and they were missing and now on her. Does anyone know if her inventory respawns, as in, will the bows disappear on her eventually, and she'll pick up 5 more. Or after the first 5, she'll stop picking up bows. Its going to be annoying if in every dungeon we go to she takes a 500 gold cut. DTM 02:17, 10 March 2011 (UTC)
Edit, she is sleeping so i pickpocketed her to see how many she has since I was away for a bit. She has 6 now. DTM 06:38, 10 March 2011 (UTC)

Can you use the Item Duplication Glitch on Black Bows? --Debatra 17:41, 23 August 2008 (EDT)

I don't think there's anything special about the bows that would prevent you from using any of the duplication glitches to make more of them. Deadlykris 12:27, 10 October 2008 (EDT)
I haven't been able to get the scroll trick to work with them, but I can't test the arrows one (I'm patched up) –RpehTCE 12:41, 10 October 2008 (EDT)

Well umm, RpehlRpeh, can't u just clear your cash (I hope I did not mispell) from your system? Or if you have oblivion on PC, uninstal the update?

Mazoga the Orc stops[edit]

I followed her to Rockmilk Cave and aided her in battle. First she went into the central room, then to the right-hand room. After that, she won't go anywhere; I'll have to push her around if I want her to join me in battle. Is this a bug or it it something I have missed? Thanks! EDIT: After I had cleared the rest of cave including the other section, I went out of it and returned to White Stallion Lodge the next day, Turdas at 2 pm. When she was going for some Black Bow Bandits again, I thought that she'd go to Undertow Cavern, but she went north instead, probably towards Rockmilk Cave again! Why does this happen? Is it mandatory for her to go through each whole cave? SwedishBerzerker at youtube.com 11:49, 14 March 2009 (EDT)

I'm having the same problem. Anyone know of a solution? Thanks98.127.93.60 05:38, 30 January 2012 (UTC)

Black Bows for gold?[edit]

I'm new to this so forgive me if I offend or impose but, wouldn't using the duplication glitch on the black bows be a great way to get a fortune with the use of only 1 black bow. I'm thinking if you get 1 black bow and then duplicating it as many times as wanted to make a ton of gold could be a great and effective way of getting lots of gold with little and simple work. Odds are it's bound to work. Wouldn't it?

There are many things you could duplicate and sell for money. Many of them are worth a fair bit more than black bows, but yes you could do that. I like the phrasing "Odds are it's bound to work." I recommend buying up every tavern's cheap food and brewing masses of potions for easy money, and without even cheating. -- 02:53, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

Duplicating and collecting bounty will not raise your Merchant skill but can take longer to amass a large fortune.

Black Bow Bandits == Black Dart Gang?[edit]

Might they be a reference to the Black Dart Gang you drown in Tribunal? (Changed to bows because of the weapon removals.) The Bandits are gangs in and of themselves, so in this case bandit would be a synonym for gang. If both these theories agree with anyone, reply and I'll make it a note. Or you can. — Unsigned comment by (talk) at 02:40 on 19 February 2011 (UTC)

I don't see any connection besides a somewhat similar name. So no this is not a reference. --AKB Talk 02:40, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
Okay, thanks for pointing that out. I should have read the quest first (stumbled upon a link), and I apologize for not doing so. — Unsigned comment by (talk) at 04:25 on 19 February 2011 (UTC)
Don't worry about it. --AKB Talk 04:25, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

When Mazoga hunts the BBB's, and that I am not joining her, will she be killed?[edit]

Just as a matter of sense of completeness, I just want to prevent as many NPCs as possible from facing their apportioned fate. Besides, Mazoga is a lovely fellow. 06:52, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

No she won't be killed if you are not in the same cell as she is, i don't know the exact happenings but as far as i know, bascily nothing will happen. In the sense that she won't fight anything or anyone if you are not near her. Anyway, what matters is that she won't die. ;) Razor 12:52, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
The question I have is about the low level processing that most non-generic NPCs have when not in the same area as the player. I know it makes sure they are in the right place, especially if they travel, but I'm not sure what else it covers. --DKong27 Talk Cont 17:07, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

Its Turdas 2 PM and Mazoga is going to Rockmilk Cave[edit]

Any explanations? I did just finish the Black Brugo quest on Middas so maybe this will be fixed in a week or so? DTM 01:42, 10 March 2011 (UTC)

Edit: I followed her all the way to rockmilk on middas from 2pm-6am around when she decides to leave. then she goes back to white stallion lodge and sleeps til 2pm on Turdas. Then she goes back to rockmilk cave again. Can anyone actually confirm that she goes to undertow cavern? DTM 07:22, 10 March 2011 (UTC)

Edit #2: Alright this is exhausting. Can someone look at the CS? Does it show what her scripts are? On fredas she goes to undertow cavern btw. Here are some other things I found.

Interesting things: She carries 6 black bows when outside, but only 5 when inside a dungeon because she equips one. I assume this is because her weapon broke. An unfortunate consequence is she uses her bare fists because she has few to no arrows (the only ones she has are from ones that hit her I think) and is probably not scripted to use them. Also, she will not use her shield, both of these make her much weaker.

Things that still need answering: On our second visit to rockmilk cave she didn't travel past the first room and stayed by the door for the first few hours (does this for other places too now). She had 5 bows so maybe she is scripted to not seek fights as much since she has no need for any more bows. Second question: Need to figure out the right dates she goes to which caverns. From my experience and testing, the page is wrong right now.

I think most of this info should go on Mazoga (person) page, and her schedule, as NPCs schedules are relevant to them. Sorry this is just tiring following her and experimenting so much. I hope someone can help me by looking at the CS (I'm on xbox only) and help me out and fix up this page and Mazogas. DTM 07:46, 10 March 2011 (UTC)

Undertow cavern[edit]

around what time does she leave for undertow cavern? — Unsigned comment by (talk) on 21 May 2011

She leaves for Undertow Cavern at 2pm on Thursdays, Rockmilk Cave at 2pm on Wednesdays, and Telepe at 2pm on Mondays. rpeh •TCE 11:11, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

Is Black Bow Bandits really a "quest"?[edit]

I'd be reluctant to classify Mazoga's Black Bow collecting as a quest, non-journal or otherwise. A quest always ends and is non-repeatable after it's completed. You're able to accompany Mazoga and collect Black Bows as many times as you care to, as long as she remains alive. I think the developers kept Mazoga's Black Bow collecting repeatable as a kind of optional activity that's available to the player, rather than a proper quest. (I think of it as a variation of the alchemical plant-picking activity. It's always available to you, and you can do it as much as you want, yet you can ignore it when you want to.) Bow collecting sure is handy, especially when clearing out loot-rich Rockmilk Cave, for the gamer needing an infusion of funds, say, for purchasing and improving expensive homes and such.

Also, the Wiki's bow hunting schedule isn't carved in stone. There's probably some random factor in determining which dungeon Mazoga visits. I've accompanied her to Rockmilk Cave on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Also, on some Tuesdays, (which aren't even mentioned in the Wiki schedule,) we've gone to Telepe. Interestingly, Mazoga has never travelled to Undertow Cavern, and I've been hanging out with her for about an in-game month. 18:39, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

Mazoga's dead[edit]

I rested outside Telepe to regain my lost health points, and when I woke up, Mazoga was gone. I could not find her anywhere, so I left and continued my game in other locations. So, when I came accidentally back to Telepe one day, I found Mazoga dead in the ground behind a rock. Can I complete the quest without her, because I think the quest stuck in the part I should take her with me from Leyawiin to leave to Telepe, so now I can't talk to her (because she's dead).

No talk option[edit]

I completed the Brugo quest, and when I talk to the count, he asks if I've had any luck with the remnants, but there is no black bow option...no way to sell him the bows. Is there a way around this glitch? 01:59, 3 September 2012 (UTC)

Recent Schedule Changes[edit]

Instead of multiple necroposts that are at the very least disputable, lets have one thread exploring the not-new assertions that something in the schedule doesn't match what is happening in the game before asserting it as the one unbiased truth claiming that everyone else is wrong.

First where is this information coming from? Is it wholly via ingame observation, something that is known to not always quite match what is scheduled because an NPC must always finish their previous schedule when observed, no matter how long it takes. Observation can thus be off by hours at a time. Mazoga's schedule is documented in the CS list, it matches what was previously here. Are the documented schedules wrong or is there something else going on with them (a bug or coding conflicts)? Who are the "we" as quoted from my talk page, who claim to have consistent reports. The information on the page is supported by some well-respected and trusted editors, namely Guildknight who created the page and rpeh on the talk page above.

The claims of consistent reports of incorrect information is exaggerated, as is the need to post in every topic that someone is wrong (especially when they aren't). There is one direct claim that the information on the page isn't correct, one that saw her go in a different-to-expected direction but didn't follow up to see where she did go, and one that doesn't support either the old or new information being presented (no Undertow at all and no Fredas hunting). There are no schedules for her on Tirdas or Fredas, except the existing schedules which last until 8am on those days.

I could spend a whole lot of time trying to follow Mazoga to every location on every day for a month, but if you have enough conclusive evidence to support the changes there is no need. Simply present the evidence you gathered and show how you are correct before undermining what is hard evidence of the previous status of the page.
