GOTY Question[edit]

does it get sacked the instant kotn is installed? or do you need to hit a certain level or start something?

ie in the goty version that comes with kotn does the player character ever get to see the intact building or talk to the dead npcs? — Unsigned comment by 24.38.235.96 (talk) at 17:20 on 1 October 2012‎

If the GOTY version isn't any different, I can tell you for sure the chapel is sacked from the start of the game (when the mod is activated, the chapel is sacked), in which case you'll never see those NPCs alive ~ Dwarfmp (talk) 17:24, 1 October 2012 (GMT)

Curiously, I managed to see the chapel before the attack using an alternate start mod to skip the intro. Beginning the game at Anvil, I noticed the prophet wasn't anywhere to be seen. I walked into the chapel and talked to the still-alive NPCs. Then I went outside and wallked around town until I overheard some NPC chatter about the attack and got the "Topic added: Pilgrimage" notification on the top of the screen. At this point, the prophet arrived at his usual spot near the chapel, and I went inside the chapel to find out the priests had been killed. Thus I believe the sacking happens when the topic is added, not as soon as KotN is installed (though that is not very useful info since under normal circumstances it might be impossible to reach Anvil without overhearing the rumours).--179.181.77.13 11:25, 24 April 2017 (UTC)

Ayleid or Dwemer?[edit]

We've maintained for years that the runes are Dwemer, but I'm not so sure anymore, and it actually makes a lot more since they are Ayleid. See Lore:Dwemer Alphabet for the comparison between the two. Our own notes use the Ayleid version, as well, so I would say we are likely wrong about this. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 21:18, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

Yes, they're Ayleid, but the script is almost identical to Dwemer so we've treated it as an alphabetical variant for years for ease of documentation. It's incorrect to call it Dwemer lore-wise, but we do anyway. Definitely needs to be changed/clarified. —Legoless (talk) 21:28, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
