Quest[edit]

I have just posted the first article on this quest I am guessing this may be considered more of a service offered but in fact it is a quest--Obliv4PS3 22:41, 8 June 2007 (EDT) AKA "Most Honored Listener"

As you can only use it once, and only with vincentte I agree that it is not a service. David 08:18, 16 June 2007 (EDT)

Quest Won't End[edit]

I have the vampires disease but I'm not a vampire yet. Whenever I sleep to finish the 3 days it says I have Vampirism and Hunter's Sight, but I'm not receiving a quest update. How do I?--GJPal 16:39, 20 July 2007 (EDT)

You don't get a quest update when you catch vampirism, only when you start the Vampire Cure quest. Now you're a first-stage vampire, following the advice on that page should help you get started. --RpehTalk 08:45, 24 July 2007 (EDT)
The only way I could end the quest was by killing Vicente.--Willyhead 14:49, 9 September 2007 (EDT)

Quest Icon[edit]

Because this is not an official Dark brotherhood questline quest does the "Quest Icon" Still apply? I don't think that it would...--Most Honored Listener 02:41, 9 July 2007 (EDT)

It's the right one. The icons aren't a personal choice - they're the ones used by the game, and even though Darkness Eternal isn't an official Dark Brotherhood quest, that's the icon it uses. --RpehTalk 00:22, 10 July 2007 (EDT)

Different Quest introduction[edit]

After talking to Vicente, i can't remember which topic, a quest popped up named "darkness eternal" that read

"Vicente Valtiere believes there is a cure for vampirism. If i wish to investigate further, I should speak with Raminus Polus, a mage who has done some reasearch into the subject. I can find him in the Imperial City, at the Arcane University."

I should also note that this was before i had completed any of his quests. Furthermore, I had already cured vampirism on myself and the count of Skingrad. I went to Raminus Polus anyway to find out if i could complete this quest. There were no topics relating to the quest, and it would appear its just going to stay in my journal forever. I'm not sure if this is stated in the article but from my reading it isn't...should this be mentioned? or is my DB glitching because i've had a lot of problems with this guild. Thanks for any comments.--Piercethetruth 22:33, 23 November 2007 (EST)

oops nvm i just saw it on the main page of journal entries, my bad--Piercethetruth 22:42, 23 November 2007 (EST)

Vamp = no 'dark gift'?[edit]

When I finished The assassinated man I was already a vampire, and I'm pretty sure that Vicente neglected to mention his offer and there was no dark gift subject. In fact I was a vamp before I joined the DB, and I don't remember Vicente mentioning 'maybe I might offer you the gift later etc'. I've played through before and he said both things. Worth mentioning on page? Tryzon 16:49, 2 February 2008 (EST)Tryzon

Can't get vampirism[edit]

I wait three days by clicking the wait option, selecting 24 hours, and doing that three times, then go to sleep and i wake up and nothing is different

I tried playing straight for three days (oblivion time) and go to sleep and i dont wake up a vampire.

There is nothing else I can talk to Vicente about other than non-related Darkness Eternal things.

I have already gotten the journal entry to tell me to wait.

What should I do? — Unsigned comment by Oblivionguy (talkcontribs) on 15 August 2008

Check you've actually got Porphric Hemophillia, that might be the problem. — Unsigned comment by E1ectricGuitar (talkcontribs) on 7 April 2009
Im having the same problem i waited 3 days and didnt become vampire. Vincente bit me while i sleep is it a bug? i did the purification mission for the Dark B. is there any other way to obtain vampirism like a potion of some sort? — Unsigned comment by 67.175.178.20 (talk) at 07:57 on 16 June 2010
It is an odd problem - after Vincente bites you and you sleep, you should definitely get some nightmare-descriptions after waking up. Check out your stats to make sure you are actually infected - if not, then something went wrong and you can do one of two things (and always remember to uninstall any mods if you are running any); Reload an earlier save or visit one of the many vampire caves and get infected there. I'll try to test this a bit later. --Krusty 08:15, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
I've got the same problem!!! Nothing helped and I decided to go to testing hall (console command). Became a vampire but only my look changed, not abilities and NPC wasn't scared. There were no possibility to start Cure Vampirism quest, no topic. Nothing. Some bug I presume.

For PC players, if you have TGM active then you'll still receive the quest update, but you won't be infected with Vampirism. (85.240.197.105 23:09, 30 July 2011 (UTC))

Weird.[edit]

Am i the only one that noticed that even after Vincente fed on you that he still looked stage 3? Is this a bug or is it just a programming mistake? Finally, is it main article worthy? --SneakyPenguin77 (also my Gamertag) 02:34, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

Just an oversight, I think. Or the developers found it not worthy enough to pursue. In any case, I don't think it's noteworthy enough for the article. --Timenn-<talk> 14:28, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
Vicente, discussing his appearance: "Heh, yes, it's true. I'm quite the social pariah. After a few hundred years the changes happened on its own. But you need not worry about that now. Maybe in a few centuries, hmm?" 72.224.126.156 21:42, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

Argonians[edit]

Due to their 75% disease resistance, can agronians feasibly ge vampirism? — Unsigned comment by 88.107.169.249 (talk)

Yes Volthawk 12:55, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
If you let yourself be repeatedly attack by Vampires you will eventually become infected, even if you are an Argonian. It will probably just take longer. --Timenn-<talk> 11:11, 30 October 2009 (UTC)

What to do to complete mission darkness enternal? — Unsigned comment by 83.131.225.232 (talk) on December 2009

Could you please give a bit more detail? The fact that you originally posted this on the Community Portal would suggest that you haven't even looked at the quest page. If there's a specific bit that you're stuck at which isn't explained in the article, please post it here again. Thanks! - GLT|C 18:05, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

I became a vampire by getting into a fight with one whilst I was doing a quest. I've started the darkness enternal quest which can cure your vampirism, but have heard that the quest has a bug and won't actually let you finish. Has anyone got a guide for this quest because I don't want to mess it up. Thanks! 92.3.98.96 19:52, 9 January 2010 (UTC) Pat

The quest to cure vampirism is not Darkness eternal but Vampire Cure, it is quite possibly the buggiest quest in the game though.--RhomphaiaTC 20:05, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

Moved notes[edit]

  • For PC players, if you have TGM active then you'll still receive the quest update, but you won't be infected with Vampirism.
  • If you have previously become a vampire, and been cured, you can not become one again, so this quest will not work.

The first one requires the console, the second one is something I believe is already a known fact about vampirism, so why would this be different? — Unsigned comment by Alpha Kenny Buddy (talkcontribs) at 05:14 on 21 February 2011 (UTC)
