I found the locked chest immediately upon entering and killing the captain, I didn't have to explore the ship to get it to spawn, and I was able to loot it before heading downstairs. Someone may want to clarify that.

Well i think that's pretty blattant already- no need to clarify it.--Willyhead 07:50, 25 July 2007 (EDT)

Can't Start Quest[edit]

I got the Note from First Mate Filch from Captain Baszone Patneim's corpse, but I can't seem to get the quest to start. Reading the note doesn't seem to help. If I drop the note on the floor, I can read it but not pick it up. Am I missing something? — Kentyman 23:57, 15 August 2007 (EDT)

It's not a proper quest so you don't get an entry in your journal. There are several of these: check out the list here. --RpehTalk 00:51, 16 August 2007 (EDT)
Ah, thanks for the clarification. Should we mark all of these as such? It wasn't intuitively obvious to me. — Kentyman 15:50, 16 August 2007 (EDT)
Yes, it's probably a good idea. Maybe a note linking to the full list of non-journal quests? --RpehTalk 00:34, 17 August 2007 (EDT)

Stolen Goods[edit]

All and any goods taken count as stolen items. Is this not usually flagged on these pages? 80.199.54.10 17:33, 21 May 2008 (EDT)

Not usually, no. You have essentially broken into somewhere you're not supposed to be, so naturally everything counts as stolen. We don't mention that on any of the other city-based quest pages though as it's a bit too obvious. –RpehTCE 03:26, 22 May 2008 (EDT)

Thanks for the fast reply. Fair dinkum. PS Not for this page, but.. Is there any way to clear 'Items Stolen' statistic? (Jail-time only removes items, and add jail-time statistic?) Sometimes a 'white' grab-hand is shown, but taking the item adds to 'IS' statistic (and, vice versa, 'red' grab-hand but no theft). Likewise clearing of 'Assaults' (hitting horse gives statistic <1, ie hidden?) 80.199.54.10 07:24, 22 May 2008 (EDT)

If you're on the PC, yes. See this for the console command to use. –RpehTCE 08:00, 22 May 2008 (EDT)

Jewelry[edit]

Is the jewelery possibly enchanted? Helper Unknown 07:46, 30 July 2008 (EDT)

Help[edit]

HELP, I can't make the sea tub clarabella to a free house. I am playing on PS3, what shall I do? — Unsigned comment by Erlend (talkcontribs) on 14. December 2008

I might be wrong but I think since you are illegally entering the ship you can't sleep on the bed. The part of the article which says the chest is safe to put items on it might still hold true though I haven't tried it. 190.135.131.140 03:35, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

Missing Captain?[edit]

You know, I've been by this ship several times and even gone on deck three times. There's never been a captain or anyone else there. So when I read that there was this non-marked quest, I thought I'd try once more, but still no captain. I realize that with the game being as old as it is, an answer is a long shot at best, but I thought I'd check anyway. — Unsigned comment by 24.9.10.216 (talk) on 18 January 2009

Never mind. I see what I have to do now. ^_^; — Unsigned comment by 24.9.10.216 (talk) on 18 January 2009

Bug[edit]

"There's a bug that makes the captain's note unequippable after dropping it on the ground." I assume this means that it is impossible to pick up the note after dropping it. Can this bug be explained further by anyone that's experienced it?--Willyhead/t 16:21, 16 April 2009 (EDT)

Yeah, it's like the note you find in Rosethorn Hall, once it's dropped you can read it but you can't pick it up. The difference is that the note in Rosethorn Hall isn't in some kind of container but it doesn't matter. There's really nothing more to it than that I think. Ok, thanks for the feedback, I've deleted the verification tag.--Willyhead/t 15:30, 17 April 2009 (EDT)

Sheep killers?[edit]

I went on the mid deck of the ship and the argonian pirate went crazy! He just ran around killing the sheep while I watched invisibly, I'm on ps3 GotY. 71.238.1.44 00:10, 16 September 2010 (UTC)

If you read the notes, you'll find the answer. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 00:54, 16 September 2010 (UTC)

Special Book?[edit]

When i went into the top deck there's a book titled "The Red Book of Riddles" I wanted to know if its worth stealing because i've never seen it before and i like to collect rare books. — Unsigned comment by 69.142.253.66 (talk) at 16:27 on 11 July 2011 (GMT)

It's pretty rare, but there's nothing unique or special about it. You can see more details here. --Legoless 15:33, 11 July 2011 (UTC)
