Related Quests[edit]

In some cases the Jailors are not a required part of quests such as in Ahdarji's Heirloom.--Most Honored Listener 03:54, 30 July 2007 (EDT)

Well Gilgondorin isn't required for The Forlorn Watchman either but I think the link should stay on the page. If you do Ahdarji's Heirloom the "standard" way you have to talk to the jailor. --RpehTalk 04:06, 30 July 2007 (EDT)

Spelling[edit]

According to the spell checker "Jailor" isn't the correct spelling, "Jailer" is.--Most Honored Listener 03:54, 30 July 2007 (EDT)

Well, that matters not. The game says that it's spelt "Jailor" so that's how it's reproduced here. Besides, if we listened to the spell checker all the time, the name of the Tamriel's emperor would be "Muriel Septum' or "Oriel Septic" --Saruuk 04:00, 30 July 2007 (EDT)
Which spell checker? I know the Firefox one doesn't like it, but that's just tough - see for yourself. --RpehTalk 04:06, 30 July 2007 (EDT)
As Saruuk said, it's the spelling in the game that counts, see UESPWiki:Spelling. --NepheleTalk 12:25, 30 July 2007 (EDT)

Different NPCs?[edit]

I am not sure but I think that the Imperial Jailor is a different NPC than the City Jailors. For instance the city jailors I believe are called "(city name) Jailor" not "Imperial jailor". Does this make them separate NPCs?--Most Honored Listener 14:41, 30 July 2007 (EDT)

This article is about Imperial Jailors in general, not just the one in the Imperial City. All of them are members of the Imperial Legion, and in fact all of them are Imperials as well, so it's still mostly correct to call them "Imperial Jailors", and having a separate article for "Anvil Jailor", "Bravil Jailor", "Bruma Jailor", etc. is just unnecessary, they all behave in pretty much the same way. --TheRealLurlock Talk 16:01, 30 July 2007 (EDT)
I actually had something more like a Jailor page similar to the Beggars page just without individual links. Then why wasn't this page just named Jailors? just wondering.--Most Honored Listener 18:24, 30 July 2007 (EDT)
Well, they ARE all Imperial, and all members of the Imperial Legion, and the page kind of goes along with Imperial Watch, Imperial Legion Soldier, Imperial Legion Forester, Imperial Legion Battlemage, Imperial Prison Guard, and the not-yet-created Imperial Legion Archer and Imperial Legion Centurion, all listed on the NPCs page. --TheRealLurlock Talk 19:51, 30 July 2007 (EDT)

Stub[edit]

I don't think this article should be a stub, as it has all of the needed information on it, does anybody agree? Ninja Hinder 19:22, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

It could probably use stats, for anyone with access to the construction set. Otherwise, I can't think of anything else it could use. Darkle 23:17, 2 October 2008 (EDT)
It does need a summary table including stats and probably a table with console information so I have added a cleanup tag stating so. --Matthewest TCE 19:32, 10 April 2009 (EDT)

Respawning[edit]

Quick Question--please answer in WIKI, are jailors respawnable? or do they like NPCs die and never come back? — Unsigned comment by 64.12.116.136 (talk) on 10 April 2009

Yes, jailors respawn when killed, just like any other generic NPC. --SerCenKing Talk 06:53, 11 April 2009 (EDT)

Related Quests[edit]

Sorry about my recent edit in the Related Quests section. I was experimenting with a couple of quest links and I thought I had pressed Show Preview. Instead, I pressed Save Changes and then I exited the screen to go and do some other things. I apologize for the inconvenience and I thought I'd let everybody know. --Matthewest TCE 05:56, 16 April 2009 (EDT)

Shifts[edit]

I'd like to know when their shift is, because I had problems escaping and thought it'd be wise to know their shifts. — Unsigned comment by Faceshifter (talkcontribs) on 21 November 2009

Which jailor exactly are you interested in? If you could specify it would make it quicker to check! Also please remember to sign your post using the four tidles (~~~~) button on the upper left-hand side of the editing box. Thanks --SerCenKing Talk 14:59, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
At the moment I am stationed in Leyawiin jail, waiting for the jailor to take a walk. I've already found out that he takes a small meal around 2.45 a.m.
for a minute and then starts to wander about in his dungeon. I hope I sign correct like: --Faceshifter 10:03, 22 November 2009 (UTC)

Weird wording...[edit]

If you choose to go to jail after being caught committing a crime, the Evidence Chest is also found in this room, from which you can retrieve your confiscated items. In doing this you are committing another crime and may be attacked on sight. Once you leave prison your stolen items will disappear.

I am assuming this is trying to say that your stolen items will disappear from the chest and reappear in your inventory, but whatever it means, it is clearly worded badly. Any one want to fix it to what they think it means? — Unsigned comment by Catmaniac66 (talkcontribs) on 2 March 2010

What it is trying to say is that your stolen items will not be returned to you after you serve your time in jail and are released. Where did you see this text? Some clarification might make that statement a little more clear. — Unsigned comment by 68.112.109.47 (talk) on 2 March 2010
I've done my best to tweak that sentence, even though it made sense to me before too. --SerCenKing Talk 08:32, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, now that I see the reworded sentence, I can see what the original sentence was saying.--Catmaniac66 01:53, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
