Strongblade[edit]

Is Strongblade Jhared's last name or just a "nickname"???--Skober 07:31, 31 May 2007 (EDT)

He's hardly mentioned in the game, for example I can't find any dialogues talking about him. So I don't think there's any way to figure out for sure. My guess is that it's a nickname, just given that "Strongblade" is such an unusual name for a Breton. --NepheleTalk 23:42, 31 May 2007 (EDT)
Hmmm... I'm curious because I have a first name for my character, but no last name. There aren't very many Breton family names that begin with an "S". I suppose I could claim the name and make it semi-official. If you ever have time to waste, check out my user page... I've posted a whole thing about my character with a synopsis of his past, but I have soo much more I want to add and come up with.--Skober 04:09, 1 June 2007 (EDT)
If you're looking for Breton names you might want to check Lore:Names. --NepheleTalk 10:31, 1 June 2007 (EDT)

Doesn't appear[edit]

Is this character disabled or something like that at some point of the game? I've searched the Knights if the Thorn HQ, the basement, Riverview, entire Cheydinhal, ... but he is nowhere to be found. I waited days at the HQ, but he didn't show up (even to sleep).--LordDagon 07:26, 3 September 2008 (EDT)

Definitely does exist. Never disabled, either, so something must have killed him in your game. He sleeps between midnight and 8am in the KotT lodge and eats from noon to 2pm. THe rest of the time he should be wandering around the lodge. –RpehTCE 12:25, 3 September 2008 (EDT)
Well i did some checking and he does seem to dissapear in my game too.
He's there before i advance the main quest but then i loaded a more advanced game and teleport to his position- after Deliver the Amulet but before closing the Oblivion gate in Cheydinhal- he was not there and Amminus Gregori was in his 'spot' - weird.
Perhaps the trigger of the Oblivion gate outside Cheydinhal 'kills' him sometimes or something. It's not reasonable for him to die if he never leaves the lodge. 200.121.132.200 03:46, 21 November 2008 (EST)
Hmm. Looks like I missed something in my original reply... If the Allies For Bruma quest is active when the The Wayward Knight quest starts, Jhared is disabled. However, he should be reenabled after Light the Dragonfires is complete. –RpehTCE 04:37, 21 November 2008 (EST)

Possible bug.[edit]

I did some modifications to the bug, but that's so it shows up better.

  • Playstation.svgSometimes Jhared Strongblade will welcome you as a new member even when you are not a Knight of the Thorn.

Could someone test this?--I a m g o o f b a l l--Need Something? Drop by on my Talk Page. What I've done for this site. 05:05, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

Okay, I am almost entirely positive that I made a mistake here when I was writing his dialogue. It seems that this is his default greeting... What I marked as his default greeting is actually his dialogue that he uses in case that you end the Oblivion Crisis before saving Farwil. The fact that no one caught it is probably because he is the most isolated NPC excluding the test NPCs. I actually am not entirely sure what is wrong either, my best diagnosis is that this is just weird quark that never got caught, but it definitely could use a second opinion. Either way, his dialogue is going to need a re-writing it seems. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 05:18, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
The problem is that the line "As the newest member of the Knights of the Thorn, I bid you welcome!"" has greater priority than any of his other greetings, which means he probably won't say any of the others. mxk101Talk 22:47, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
