So, uh, how come this guy is a Breton when the rest of his family are Imperials? --66.23.133.52 15:32, 13 March 2007 (EDT)

The same way that Eronor, (a Dunmer at Weynon Priory) can be the brother of Dagail (a Bosmer in Leyawiin). Supposedly, when asked about this, Bethesda implied that people generally inherit the race of their mother, not their father. (This makes it easier on them by not having to deal with cross-breed races.) However, this goes contrary to other parts of lore - for instance, the origin of Bretons as a cross-breed race between Altmer and Nedics (the ancestors of Nords), or the implication that Bosmer and Khajiits are more closely related than either race would ever admit. I wouldn't stress too much over it. Just a little bit of developer-weaseling. --TheRealLurlock Talk 17:03, 13 March 2007 (EDT)
... But his mother is an imperial... It doesn't add up... Perhaps it's simply a mistake? (and yes, I know it says 2007
Hey, you could always pretend the father wasn't always a one woman man, or something. Darkle 17:27, 10 October 2008 (EDT)

Adopted?[edit]

Is adoption into the Draconis's family a reasonable explanation for him being a breton? Thats the only explanatin I could think of. Unless, like, the father married Perennia Draconis with Matthias as a son? Buty thats far fetched, not like the adoption idea. This may go on the note section to see what people think.--Arch-Mage Matt 00:31, 23 November 2009 (UTC)

The actual reason is more than likely a developer oversight, but there is a reason that can be given within the Elder Scrolls lore. If two persons of different races mate and produce a child, the child won't be a cross-breed, but assume the race of one of the two parents. I'm not fully briefed on how those genetics work precisely, but it was a brilliant idea by Bethesda. This saved them from having to create all these cross-breed NPCs, and it doesn't even stand perpendicular with real life genetics! I only wish Star Trek had adopted this strategy to silence the eternal question on why there are so few (adult) cross-breed people across the entire Federation. --Timenn-<talk> 14:05, 26 November 2009 (UTC)

Killing him before "Next of Kin" has started[edit]

Apart from the bug mentioning his murder will incur a blood price during Ahdarji's Heirloom, will it cause any other bugs before Next of Kin has started? Soulrider (talk) 21:13, 16 August 2015 (UTC)

No. —Legoless (talk) 20:21, 17 August 2015 (UTC)
