Equipment[edit]

Does Modryn always wear plain iron armor and wield that old iron mace? Seems like pretty bland equipment for the second-in-command of the Fighters' Guild. IWon'tFightUndead 12:12, 15 October 2007 (EDT)

Yes, he always wears iron armor (boots and cuirass), but his weapon is a steel mace, not an iron mace. None of his equipment is leveled. --NepheleTalk 03:30, 20 October 2007 (EDT)

Statistics[edit]

I thought I'd better explain why I removed the statistics box from the article since I imagine our anonymous friend put a fair bit of work into it. First, we already have the important data in the infobox - level, health and magicka. Fatigue isn't nearly as important and the others are also largely irrelevant. The second point is that if we have it on one NPC we ought to have it on all of them. That's not too bad for fixed-level NPCs like Modryn Oreyn but for PC-relative NPCs it'll be a real pain as all the various level adjustments need to be incorporated. Quite simply it would be a lot of effort for not very much gain.

I had actually considered adding this information myself, early in my wiki education, but talked myself out of it. I don't believe enough people would be interested in the information to justify its inclusion. –RpehTCE 11:14, 20 February 2008 (EST)

And if I ever find time to put together my NPC statistics calculator, this information will be available for all NPCs, including leveled ones, through the calculator. And FYI, it's not that putting together the calculator is difficult... the problem really is just finding a spare afternoon when fifty other wiki requests aren't higher priorities. --NepheleTalk 11:44, 20 February 2008 (EST)

Wandering Oreyn[edit]

(moved from the article)

I don't know why it happened but after the Azani Blackheart quest Modryn never returned to Chorrol, he just wandered around the world for the rest of the game, it made the rest of his missions difficult to complete because he traveled so far during them.

I had a similar issue. after the blackheart quest, modryn simply stayed at atatar. everytime i needed to talk to him i would have to fast-travel to atatar and he hould be standing beneath the arch. perhaps an errors section is needed? 97.122.154.99 02:48, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

I had the same problem I think, except he would just stand in the middle of the path by Atatar. I noticed when i would go near him he would start walking, but if I stopped and got too far away he would stop. I followed him and he went to Atatar, entered, and exited immediately. He then went to where he was supposed to be at the point in the storyline I was at (by himself). 97.82.19.119 19:42, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
Happening to me too I believe. After doing Fugitives and Wandering Scholar, I just can't find him :( 98.18.174.59 01:37, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

Others Injured[edit]

While in diolouge in the Azani Blackheart Quest, he says stuff like "20 men went in there... 5 came out..." and then, "You've probably seen the injured around town" The only one that that could be is Kurz gro-Baroth, and he isn't four people. He never even mentions that event. Is this an oversight of the developers?--Arch-Mage MattTalk 22:33, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

Missing Dialogue[edit]

Just for the record, there's a recorded line of dialogue for the Trolls of Forsaken Mine-quest that is unused - meaning I can't trigger it: "A journal? Sounds like he fought bravely. I should have known the Blackheart Company was involved. Reckless amateurs!" My stance on this is that the page is incredibly huge already and an extra note will be so far down the page that it is merely unnecessary to list it - it will also add an annoying sic-tag. If, however, anyone disagree, please find out the conditions and add the relevant bug info before editing the article. --Krusty 19:50, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

I think the standard sound file for unused dialogue should be added. There's no point in going to such lengths to perfect the article and add the huge amounts of dialogue if it isn't complete at the end, so I doubt one little note will carry much of a negative impact. I already mentioned this on my talk page, but for the record I believe the cause of this dialogue being unused is because the "StageDone" needs to be equal to 25 instead of 1 (which is nonsense, as it can only be positive or negative). Seeing as the dialogue also doesn't remove the journal from the player's inventory, I've come to the conclusion that it was related to another way of going about the quest, likely involving keeping the journal or giving it to someone else. Of course, that sort of speculation probably wouldn't benefit the article, so a simple note saying "unused" should be fine. --Legoless 20:32, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
