Is it possible to meet the Pale Lady without doing the related quest? xoxo Coryl

Yes... just updating the main page with that right now as I came here to post it. She's supposed to be disabled until the player comes to rescue Amusei, but there's a bug in his script so she'll be enabled whenever the player goes into the secret area in the wine cellar. This doesn't cause a problem with the later Lost Histories quest, but it makes it rather difficult for to have taken Amusei if she's already dead. Kivan 23:41, 27 April 2008 (EDT)

Mina?[edit]

Where did the information about her name come from? And I can't find anything about "interrogates" either. –RpehTCE 04:25, 13 April 2008 (EDT)

After completing the Lost Histories quest, you can ask the Skingrad Jailor about "The Pale Lady." He replies; "Oh, you mean Mina? She... er... interrogates prisoners. Best not go around asking questions about her." Odd, but true. Try it yourself, Reph. --HMSVictory 04:28, 13 April 2008 (EDT)
The only use of the word "interrogates" in the dialogue export is "I've heard of a hidden torture chamber. They say that Count Marius interrogates Argonian immigrants from Black Marsh." so I dunno where that's coming from. I don't have a character I can use to test it in-game though. –RpehTCE 04:37, 13 April 2008 (EDT)
No, trust me, he says it. You can test whenever, but I did the Lost Histories quest yesterday, and was surprised when I heard this while talking to the Skingrad Jailor. I am 100% sure he mentions that line. --HMSVictory 04:39, 13 April 2008 (EDT)
I just tried it, Went to the Skingrad Jailor with my Gray Fox Charcater (a typical argonian) and there was nothing in the diaglogue list about The Pale Lady. --Volanaro 04:41, 13 April 2008 (EDT)
There is! I asked him as I was escaping. I had just left the Wine Cellar via the secret passage, and Amusei had disappeared. I knew about this bug, so I carried on. I went past the Jailor, and wondered if he had any new information I didn't know. I check the dialogue options, which were all grey. Then I scrolled down, and saw the option "Pale Lady". I clicked it, and that's what he said. Do the same while on the quest, and you'll find that piece of dialogue. --HMSVictory
Which version of the game are you playing? –RpehTCE 05:50, 13 April 2008 (EDT)
What do you mean by that? In terms of patches, I'm unsure. I didn't have any mods active, official or not, when I did the quest. --HMSVictory 08:14, 13 April 2008 (EDT)

(outdent) I mean that I'm wondering if this is XBox- or GotY-specific or something like that. On my PC version with the latest patch, that dialogue just isn't there. –RpehTCE 08:21, 13 April 2008 (EDT)

Same here, I have never seen that dialogue on my pc version, one of my mates (not hms warspite) has it on xbox 360 so i'll ask him next time i see him. --Volanaro 08:23, 13 April 2008 (EDT)
Oh. It's PC; Non GOTY. Try looking for the dialogue while on the quest - see what you find. --HMSVictory 08:23, 13 April 2008 (EDT)
Nope. That's not there either. –RpehTCE 08:26, 13 April 2008 (EDT)
I'm sorry, Rpeh, but I've just flicked back onto an quicksave I had while on the quest (As I said, I only did it yesterday) and, yes, the Jailor still presents me with that line. If you have the Oblivion CS, try looking for the Jailor's dialogue options. Go onto his NPC screen and click "dialog" (Actually, you probably already know how to do that). --HMSVictory
Ah! "Mina? You don't want to go asking about her. She... um... interviews prisoners. She isn't one to be crossed." It helps when I'm given the right thing to look for! –RpehTCE 08:54, 13 April 2008 (EDT)
Ah! Interviews, not Interrogates! I knew something was wrong! I'll tweak the main article now. --HMSVictory 08:57, 13 April 2008 (EDT)

Could this name perhaps be a reference to Dracula? --24.247.73.179 20:21, 9 May 2008 (EDT)

Where did you find this name? If you are referring to the Countess, probably not, but please tell us what section contains this information.-Puddle 20:30, 9 May 2008 (EDT)
Mina Harker is one of the main characters in the book. Plus, most of the book deals with vampires so the reference makes sense (and rather funny, imho). --24.247.73.179 20:38, 9 May 2008 (EDT)
Agreed, and added. If it's deemed irrelevant at a later date it's painless to revert. In addition, this is corroborated byt he fact that Mina is not a typical Dunmer name. 32.157.58.156 03:22, 6 October 2008 (EDT)
"In the novel, she is repeatedly bitten, though allowed to live and so preventing her vampirization, by Dracula - perhaps she finally succumbed to the bite?"

Is this speculation warranted? While it could be a nod to a Dracula character, given one "lived" thousands of years after the other, it seems unreasonable to infer one in the "future" became the other in the "past". Or an I misinterpreting the sentence? --203.206.123.33 01:54, 15 June 2009 (EDT)

You're right. The speculation has bothered me before. I feel that a similarity between topic (Vampires) and first name is not enough to warrant a reference note. --Timenn < talk > 07:51, 15 June 2009 (EDT)

Disease?[edit]

So I'm pretty sure I contracted some sort of disease while I was fighting the Pale Lady. I'm not sure what it is (disease-wise) or the effects. Has anyone else had this happen or did I imagine the text popping up on my screen? --MeBetter87 20:53, 26 March 2009 (EDT)

She's a Vampire, which means you caught Porphyric Hemophilia. You'll want to get yourself cured pretty quickly, otherwise your disease will progress into something much more serious. --NepheleTalk 21:59, 26 March 2009 (EDT)
Thanks alot! I cured myself right away!MeBetter87 22:11, 28 March 2009 (EDT)

Dust-less[edit]

Minor, but: Despite being a vampire, she doesn't drop any Vampire Dust. Can't remember if this a common occurrence with named vampires, but it wasn't mentioned on the page, so I thought I'd bring it up. (PS3 GOTY ver) 71.112.202.109 03:47, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

Coulda sworn that was on the page...It's just because the devs forgot. I believe that the UOP fixed it. --DKong27 Talk Cont 19:00, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

The Count must know[edit]

There count must know that the Pale Lady exists in his castle. He's a vampire himself, so the chances of another vampire feeding on his prisoners (and the guard knows as well) must be more the coniencidental. I'm very suprised the Count doesn't throw in a sly comment at some point after completing that quest 85.210.164.134 22:07, 19 April 2011 (UTC)

As the article says, it is never revealed if the count knows about her or not. To assume he does would be speculation. Legoless 22:10, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
You are wrong about this Legoless. When you fight the Pale Lady, she says: "i will feed your blood to the mistress" or something similar. As we all know the state of Hassildors wife, it can be presumed she is a vampire assistant in the Castle. Even more evidence to this is tha fact that there are human blood bottles in that secret room. As the orc butler mentions, the count is very particular with his food and drink. I would guess it means she is meant to pour blood into wine bottles. -feenix — Unsigned comment by 195.56.53.52 (talk) at 06:45 on 12 August 2011 (GMT)
It seems a couple of things on the page weren't quite right - it missed the combat dialogue for a start. It does seem to suggest a link between the two. rpeh •TCE 07:09, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
I would have interpreted that as her speaking in the third person, as she does with her other line of dialogue. Although, perhaps both lines refer to Countess Skingrad. --Legoless 13:21, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

Question[edit]

Can it be possible that she turned herself into the pale lady from Skyrim? Both are Elves.--Cantbeonforums (talk) 13:23, 23 April 2021 (UTC)

They are two totally unrelated people. Aumriel is an ancient spirit sealed away by the Nords; this lady is a Dunmer who is likely long dead by the time of Skyrim. Aumriel is not even a Dunmeri name. —Legoless (talk) 13:56, 23 April 2021 (UTC)
