NPC Summary template[edit]

I have placed this template here so it would not be lost pending discussion on whether Pelinal needs an NPC summary. I'm considering the fact that you do not battle him, and you never need to "find" him. --GuildKnight | Talk (contribs) 14:14, 18 March 2007 (EDT)

I agree that his NPC Summary isn't needed, in which case I'd prefer to just delete the info so that it doesn't create a bunch of red links. If the information is ever needed, I can regenerate it (or it can be pulled out of this page's history). --Nephele 23:27, 25 March 2007 (EDT)

Cleanup[edit]

It seems as though this page has all the info it needs. All that needs to be done is for it to be organized.--Most Honored Listener 04:02, 26 August 2007 (EDT)

Missing Content[edit]

Unlike the rest of the KotN npcs listed here, it seems Pelinal Whitestrake is the only one listed without his FormID and RefID. Thought I'd try to help out a bit =p

His FormID (taken from the Construction Set, I hope that's the right one) is XX000F88 His RefID is XX0026A6. Trying to move to him after the Pilgrimage quest is completed will warp you up into the sky as in the 'vision', yet Whitestrake himself won't be there.

I'm not sure how to find out the rest of the typical NPC info, but I hope this helps.

See him?[edit]

(moved from the article)

You can see him above the Big tower in the imperial city (you have to be in waterfront, using the tcl console command)

Moved largely because I can't tell what it means. –RpehTCE 00:56, 18 September 2008 (EDT)

If you fly above the white tower, a cloud appears. Continue flying and he is standing in the cloud.

Dialogue[edit]

This is all his dialogue for the dialogue part of the OBNPCRP. I'm placing it here in the hope that someone can intergrate it into the article because I can't remember anything that happens in the KoTN questline and so I don't know what to write. Taken from the CS. mxk101Talk 23:26, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

"Hail knight! You seek my Relics with a worthy heart! Your prayers have woken me from my endless dream. Or perhaps you have entered my dream, and I still sleep. I think others have sometimes spoken to me, others like you, but my memory is doubtful. Perhaps the others came after you. Your need must be great for the gods to allow us to speak. Has Umaril the Accursed found a way back? The foulest of a foul race. A thousand curses upon his unholy name! I thought I'd won. But I should have known. The Slavemasters are a cunning breed. Umaril found a way to cheat death, as I could not. If you would seek for my Relics, I know little that can help you. All that has passed since my death is like mist that my mind cannot take hold of. My friends built a shrine upon the site of my death, where the Elves tormented me in a final act of revenge. I can show you where it once stood. Perhaps it is there still. Fare thee well, sir knight. May the gods grant you to destroy Umaril utterly, as I failed to do."
I've added it. I included your name in the OBNPCRP tag, hope you don't mind. --Legoless 12:43, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

A possible extra note?[edit]

Is it worth mentioning that Pelinal's ghost is ALWAYS in the cloud area? I randomly used a "killall" command on the bridge to the IC to kill a load of guards and I recieved the note that "Pelinal Whitestrake is unconscious." So I flew up with "TCL" and sure enough he was there. Eric Snowmane 16:43, 24 October 2011 (UTC)

If there is any way to completely prove it then I think it should definately be mentioned. RIM 17:01, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
It can probably be checked easily in the CS. Although he isn't always there, as the battle with Umaril takes place in the clouds as well. --Legoless 19:27, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
Did you knock him out before or after the Umaril fight? it could be that he is disabled at a certain point in the KoN questline. RIM 20:04, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
Checking in the CS... It seems Pelinal is initially enabled, and is disabled right after the player leaves the area after the vision. So you should be able to find him at any point before the vision part of the Pilgrimage. --DKong27 Tk Ctr Em 20:40, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for checking that, pretty cool if you think about it.RIM 20:41, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
I wonder if the unofficial patch changes this. I know there's a bug to do with the clouds being constantly enabled, so perhaps Pelinal gets "fixed" as well. --Legoless 21:27, 24 October 2011 (UTC)

() I'm a bit annoyed at myself at taking like 5 minutes to find my esp for Knights - Unofficial Patch. It was hiding...Side note, the CS throws a lot of errors your way when starting Oblivion.esm and Knights.esp at the same time for some reason. Anyway, this is actually the first time I've looked into the Knights UOP section. Quick glance says that there are no changes to these specific quests/scripts. Perhaps that could be a suggestion to Kivan? In theory, it would just require setting the ref to initially disabled and then enabling him sometime before the vision. Of course that would require testing and all that blah. --DKong27 Tk Ctr Em 23:01, 24 October 2011 (UTC)

I got "Pelinal Whitestrake is unconscious." during normal gameplay with no console commands or bug exploits... it IS possible this to be caused by bad mod installation, but the article should have some more details. After all most of the google searches point to threads which on the other hand points here.

Brown hair[edit]

In the notes, it refers to the in-game model having brown hair rather than white, but in the lore book The Song of Pelinal Vol. 4, it claims that his white hair had gone brown with elfblood. Perhaps his hair was forever stained with elfblood that it was no longer white? While that is speculation, I'd think it be worth mentioning in the same note. Myrthuil (talk) 15:16, 18 January 2020 (GMT)

Nice find, I've modified the note. —Legoless (talk) 15:24, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
