What Happen? :([edit]

I keep trying to get to Bleak Flats Cave, but it keeps freezing up on me. This has happened on 2 characters, so it's most likely NOT save corruption. By the way, I'm on PS3, so don't say anything about getting the Unofficial Oblivion Patch. 69.29.77.224 01:24, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

EDIT: Apparently, the route I was taking was bugged. Do NOT take the Stable Route, I repeat, DO NOT TAKE THE STABLE ROUTE! 69.29.77.224 01:35, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

Erthor won’t enter Mage’s Guild[edit]

Erthor has followed me into Skingard but won’t go further than the door outside the Guiild Hall. What do I need to do to either get Erthor inside or get Adrienne outside so they can talk?

He dissapeared![edit]

I have a problem. I went to Vilverin with Erthor to fight some bandits. As I focused on one he fought the other. When I killed mine, I noticed he and the bandit had disappeared. Then I got a notice, "Erthor is unconscious" but he was no where to be found. I fast traveled to other places to see if he'd pop up but he didn't. Then I went to Skingrad to see if he had gone there himself. He wasn't there. I waited around Vilverin for a little more than 20 hours and still nothing. Will I ever be able to find him and finish the quest? So i went to the cave where he was susposed to be, and upon arrival i get a message saying that Erthor is unconscious, and then when i travel farther into the cave, theres no Erthor! Then i leave the cave and i get another message saying Erthor is unconscious, and i see his body in the water drowning. Help? He doesnt swim out of the water or anything, he stays there and goes unconscious every minute!— Unsigned comment by 65.95.198.152 (talk)

It appears you're stuck, if youre on the pc you can move and teleport him to your location, other than that I'm afraid that's the risk you take when using a quest specific follower.-Puddle TalkContribs. 22:15, 28 June 2008 (EDT)

A problem[edit]

Its not important for all here but readers of the guide should note it is wrong about sullines villenus doing the quest for you — Unsigned comment by 121.216.24.234 (talk) on 5 July 2008

I've added some information about the disabled quest sections to the article. However, I did not make any reference to the Official Game Guide, because in my edition of the guide (the original version of the Prima game guide, from May 2006), it never states that Sulinus will do the quest. Can anyone confirm that another edition of the game guide says otherwise? If so, which specific edition of the game guide is it? --NepheleTalk 01:48, 28 July 2008 (EDT)

Mine the first version i think said it in the city maps. thanks for adding it

The specific quote from the guide (1st edition, May 2006) is on p.365,#14 and states "...and if you're a pretty bad guy, Sulinus Vassinus will actually do the quest for you". I don't believe that this refers to Infamy, but is rather im[lyingthat you could just leave it for him to do, but I've never seen anything in game to suggest that this is an accurate statement.--AlphamanT 03:07, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
It seems it was in the game at some point though. Look at the quest stages on the article and then read the last note. There's no way of activating those stages because the necessary dialogue options can never appear, but the code and AI packages are all present. –RpehTCE 03:17, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
Aha, found it in the Game Guide. Thanks, Alphaman for the exact page number -- my Game Guide has fallen apart, so without a page number finding an obscure note on one of the many loose pages would have been a bit overwhelming ;) --NepheleTalk 16:32, 4 August 2008 (EDT)
I'd fix this, but it appears deliberately redacted. All of Sulinus' relevant dialog was set with the conditions that his disposition to the player is simultaneously less than zero and a positive number ie 50 or 70, which is of course impossible, so the dialog won't ever appear. If you ever see it changed from me it will only be via developer confirmation. Kivan 22:16, 13 August 2008 (EDT)

no recommendation?[edit]

When I first started out on my game, I rescued Erthor from the cave without activating the recommendation quest. When I returned him to the Mages Guild, I couldn't receive my recommendation. I talked to both of them, and they acted normally. Has this happened to anyone else? — Unsigned comment by 71.201.240.208 (talk) on 26 January 2009

If Erthor doesn't talk to Adrienne she won't recommend you. In my game, Erthor was just waiting outside the Mages Guild when I went inside. I finally got him to come in by saving/restoring while I was outside with him. — Unsigned comment by Thundre (talkcontribs) on 19 May 2010

question[edit]

i went to skingrads mages guild and there are no other members of the guild there any ideas

Druja dead?[edit]

Much earlier before i went to join the Mage's Guild, i was caught stealing by the guards and resisted, i ran into the Mage's Guild and they had an all-out war, i believe Druja died during this, i'm just wondering if i can just go to the cave without getting the task and complete the recommendation, is this possible? Edit: Actually in fact, there's only 2 members left, Vigge, and Adirenne, where the others have gone, i've got no clue.— Unsigned comment by 99.63.244.210 (talk) at 03:24 on 5 October 2009

Weak Fireball[edit]

Needs link. Sorry, my edit skills are terrible.Setazar 16:23, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

Done, although I had to make a link that could get close to the spell name since there isn't a direct link to it. --S'drassa T2M 19:11, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
I've done this twice (with different characters of course), and neither was offered nor received a spell called "Weak Fireball". Is there an unstated requirement (like Destruction level) that must be met to receive it? 12.233.146.130 21:14, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
No, you just have to go back and talk to Adrienne after Druja marks the location of Bleak Flats Cave on your map. --Gaebrial 15:21, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
Sorry for the very delayed response. I gave up on the game a year ago because I was getting all sorts of advice that did not tally with what I was seeing in the game, and this was just that. Perhaps I was unclear, but I meant at that time that I had COMPLETED the quest with two different characters (I've since done it with four), and for none of these characters was I ever offered or given a spell called "Weak Fireball". Although Adrienne mentions giving me "something to help" or something like that, the spell never appeared in my spell lists for any of the four characters, there was no message that I had received anything from her, and I never received anything else into inventory from her (like a spell book to teach the spell, etc.). Clearly there is either a bug in the quest or there is some OTHER requirement to actually receive the spell. 12.233.146.130 06:05, 18 December 2013 (GMT)

No one will talk to me when I'm a vampire![edit]

So I'm trying to get the cure to vampirism. I had to join the mages guild to get into the arcane university. I found Erthor and brought him back to Skingrad. But now Adrienne won't talk to me because I'm a vampire! She just yells at me. Is there any way around this or am I stuck?

Try feeding on somebody, it should put your vampirisim back to stage one. People will talk to you then. Kitkat TalkContribE-mail 20:07, 30 November 2011 (UTC)

Actually, in order to start the vampirism cure, all you need is access to the Arch-mages lobby, which is a public location. Raminus Polus is usually there during the day. Just wait in there until day, speak to him (He doesn't care...I think...you can feed on the arch-mage if you need to...), and then wait until night and set off to Drakelowe. Feed on the Arch-mage before you go. And try to get 5 empty grand soul gems before you go set off. The witch needs them for her hobbies. 69.29.77.224 23:54, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
