Wording Issue[edit]

I dont think the "if you were to download a mod" part is appropriate. If we allowed for hints in all hypothetical mods we would have a big mess on our hands. Herkron 22:10, 6 April 2008 (EDT)

Quite right. Removed. You're allowed to make changes yourself though! –RpehTCE 01:43, 7 April 2008 (EDT)
Thanks, but I am just trying to get used to UESP. I think I got the ropes now.Herkron 15:23, 8 April 2008 (EDT)

Effect Cost[edit]

(moved from the article)
  • Though Stunted Magicka has a Base Cost of 0, the Magicka Vortex from the Spell Tomes DLC treats the Stunted Magicka effect as if it had a Base Cost of 0.77.
This doesn't seem to be correct. The cost for the Stunted Magicka effect in that spell is listed as 0, and removing it from the spell has no effect on the spell cost. Where did you get the figure of 0.77? –RpehTCE 03:19, 18 January 2009 (EST)
I'm not DragoonWraith, but I can answer that one. That's what it says in the notes on the spell tomes page (handily linked to in the text you moved). --Gaebrial 07:33, 19 January 2009 (EST)
Ah yes. Err... good spot. Except I don't think that's right either. You don't just divide cost by duration to get base cost. A simple example is that the Absorb Magicka effect in Leech Vitality costs 34 for a 20 magnitude and 0 duration; that's from a known base of 7.5. I think this is yet another thing the needs a little more research - unless I've also missed the cost formula; the Magic Overview page doesn't seem to cover it. –RpehTCE 12:15, 19 January 2009 (EST)
See Oblivion:Spell Making#Spell Cost; you do simply divide by duration. --NepheleTalk 13:08, 19 January 2009 (EST)

Subject to Weakness to Magic?[edit]

Is this spell's duration amplified by Weakness to Magic? Magicka vortex spell stunts the magicka regeneration for 30 sec. I wonder if this could be amplified by casting Weakness to Magic before casting the vortex spell WRFan 21:10, 15 October 2009 (UTC)

According to Weakness to Magic, the spell amplifies any subsequent offensive spell effect. Since Stunted Magicka qualifies, I don't see any reason why the effect time wouldn't be extended. Dlarsh(Talk,Contribs,E-mail) 22:07, 15 October 2009 (UTC)

KotN[edit]

It isn't stated anywhere on page that equiping the Sword of the Crusader also gives player Stunted Magicka. 109.205.248.37 14:14, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

Only the cursed version. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 14:17, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
I've added the sword to the bottom of the page. On a technical note, I didn't see any evidence that we were creating sections for SI and KotN items on the various pages linked to in the effect table, so I just listed them at the bottom of the page for now. "Curing" Stunted Magicka for the Atronach birthsign[edit]

I spent a few days looking all over the internet for a means to have the Atronach spell absorbtion bonus without the stunted magicka curse. Finding nothing, I tweaked around in console and got lucky. <player.setav stuntedmagicka 0>. If anyone else is looking for this, you're welcome. 108.167.97.44 11:10, 25 March 2013 (GMT)

100% Weakness to Magic + Telekinesis[edit]

I heard that a custom spell adding 100% weakness to magicka to self will double the atronach spell absorption from 50% to 100%. Is it true? If so, a custom spell mixing both effects (weakness to magicka + telekinesis) could be a 100% guaranteed recharge spell?

Wayshrines Tip[edit]

I think this wiki should inform people about the great help offered by the wayshrines. A player born under the atronach can recharge their magicka with a mere single use of them and can spam that as long as intended. Also a great help for training heavy and light armor as the wayshrines also relpenish all the health lost in combat. All is needed is to aggro some mob all the way to a wayshrine and thats it! Should one aggro a troll, training of blade, blunt or hand to hand also becomes quite efficient as they will fully heal given some few seconds without being attacked.
