Previous notes[edit]

Previous notes on this page:

  • "The trolls had very high Spell Reflection, spellcaster characters will likely fry themselves before hurting the trolls. Their high health regeneration means you need to hurt much and hurt fast to have any effect."
  • "(all of the above done while using Oscuro's mod so may be inaccurate/wrong, please confirm)"

Even without any mods, the trolls appeared to be atypical. At the least, they were identified as Azhklan Trolls instead of just plain Trolls. They seemed to have more health and dole out more damage than normal trolls. I estimated their health to be 160 (8 back to back Flash Bolt spells killed them, 20 pts each) and one hit from them did 24 pts of damage (all done with difficulty set to normal). Both are twice the standard troll values (80 health, 12 damage). I don't know if that's level-dependent... my character was level 12. No evidence of spell reflection capability, however: I took them down as a mage with fire spells alone, and as long as I didn't let them maul me I didn't take any damage. Since I couldn't confirm this fact, I've moved it off the page. --Nephele 12:03, 6 June 2006 (EDT)

I think they're leveled. I got through this pretty easily with my level 2 guy, while his skills that I wanted to focus on were still around level 20-30. I also found a couple pretty nice enchanted pieces of armor. I didn't test magic on them, being a thief, but I took most of them down in 1 sneak hit (with a dagger). Other than that, I killed them pretty fast in around 8 hits (with a dagger), and the only major problem seemed to be the fact that they regnerated health very fast. --MrTaco122 18:07, 12 March 2007 (EDT)
They are leveled. In the construction set they are listed under the Leveled Creature tab as TrollEasy, TrollMedium, TrollHard, and TrollVeryHard. Medium shows up at level 4, hard at 11, and very hard at level 18. The stats are shown in the creatures section with the same labels. They list only a single spell: AbTrollEasy for the easy troll, AbTroll for medium and hard, and AbTrollHard for the very hard versions. The only differences are regeneration (1, 2, or 3 respectively) and that the Hard version is not immune to silence, which I think is likely an oversight. All have 50% weakness to fire, and nothing in the set mentions spell reflection.QuillanTalk 18:38, 12 March 2007 (EDT)
Yep. Everything Quillan said is also summarized at Oblivion:Azhklan Troll. (Oh, and because the regeneration is an ability, it's always immune to silence, whether it's marked as such in the CS or not; so casting silence on the VeryHard trolls won't get you anywhere). --Nephele 23:07, 12 March 2007 (EDT)

Marksmanship Practice at Veyond[edit]

With luck one can lead the second troll at the entrance over to the first troll and stand on the center platform sniping away with a bow and arrow. By exploiting the replication glitch the PC can infintely shoot the trolls by allowing them to regenerate their health. At higher Skill Levels they can get pretty easy to kill and by S.L. 75 the process becomes agonizingly slow. (*note my character has a silver bow equipped with silver arrows). Also upon killing the trolls I got well over 1k arrows each (all silver).

I hope this helps someone and forgive me if this hint broke some kind of code not sure about these new type box things yet but very nice of your site to allow users to input information keep up the good work UESP I have been using your site since DF (I miss levitation) was released.

Back of the Box[edit]

Anyone else notice that this is the location shown on the back of the vanilla Oblivion box? In the picture with the troll. I just thought that was neat, I was walking and thought it looked familiar. Ice 22:07, 19 March 2011 (UTC)

Veyond possibly quest-related during development?[edit]

It seems as if Veyond might have been intended to be quest-related, but the quest didn't make it to production.

There are several sacks containing food items scattered throughout Veyond's various levels, as well as a few low-level weapons and pieces of armour. If it was intended that the NPC owners of these items had perished previously, you'd think you'd find bodies or skeletons, but there's nothing of the sort. It's as if you were supposed to meet them or find their bodies, but they've been removed from the game, leaving their litter behind.

Also, there are two dead Trolls in Zone 2, near the entrance to Zone 3, in the area of some of the possesions. There are no gas traps or anything of the sort here. No clues as to what killed them. Interestingly, their bodies aren't labelled Azhklan Troll; they're just ordinary Trolls. They are the only ordinary Trolls in Veyond, and may have been slain by the (potentially) quest-related NPCs who no longer exist. 173.212.77.38 22:36, 2 July 2011 (UTC)

Unfinished Quest[edit]

In the CS it says that Veyond was to be used with the Fighters Guild Masters Son quest. It has the FGDo6 References in it and a ref which is called FGD06DeadViranusMARKER. So doesn't that mean it was to be used in the Master's Son quest? — Unsigned comment by 121.215.32.210 (talk) on December 21, 2011 17:12

Veyond is a good place for training (Level Up)[edit]

Veyond is a good place for training (Level Up). Trolls are regenerating so you have a good sparring partner for training Block, Blade/Blunt, Armorer. I think it is worth to mention . DD166 (talk) 22:42, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
