Approach the gorge and you'll witness:

Commander Renli: "No one goes into the Gorge. Got that?"

Galori Thirano: "Do we say why the pass is closed?"

Commander Renli: "Tell them there's death in the pass. Leave it at that."

Angaril Tenim: "Yes, Commander!"

Galori Thirano: "Yes, Commander!"

Speaking with him at the entrance to the pass:

"Why won't Mournhold send reinforcements? This pass leads straight to the city."

After Plague Bringer:

"I'd like to catch up with the Maulborn and give them what they gave to the merchants."
