Assistants are Altmer assistants to the Sapiarch in charge of a research exercise found as a random encounter across Summerset. There will always be two, one male and one female. The male assistant is focused on the exercise.

Dialogue[edit]

If you speak with him, he'll tell you off.

"I have to keep working, else I'll never become a Sapiarch. If you'll excuse me."

If you convince the Female assistant to leave, he'll say:

"She ran off? Then—then that means I'm head assistant! I knew my hard work would pay off one day."

Female[edit]

The female Assistant challenges the Sapiarch and his methods.

Dialogue[edit]

As you approach you'll hear her argue with the Sapiarch:

Sapiarch : "I expected more from you, even if you are a novice. What did I sponsor you for?"
Assistant : "Oh sure, blame us! When you're the reason we're in this mess."
"Sorry, but I don't have time to chat. At least not while the Sapiarch is watching me like a hawk."
What's going on here?
"The College is breathing down the Sapiarchs' neck, so he's taking it out on us. And as a lowly assistant, I have no room to complain."
[Persuade] You shouldn't have to put up with that.
"I have to agree, but where would I even go? It's always been my dream to become a Sapiarch. I've always been a scholar at heart, and a damn good one at that."
What about the Mages Guild?
"Hmm. I never considered that, truth be told.
The Mages Guild is known to be filled with some of the greatest scholars in Tamriel. And I'm sure they'd treat me a lot better than this! You know, I think I will join them. Thank you!"
I can't help with that dilemma.
"But still, thank you for listening. Sometimes all you really need is a sympathetic ear."
Sounds like you should get back to work, then.
"If you're not going to be at least sympathetic, why even chat with me? Farewell, then."

If you convinced her to leave, she'll say the following before running off:

Assistant: "To oblivion with this work. I will take part in it no longer."

If you instead intimidated the Sapiarch, she'll say:

"Ha! Glad to see someone put the Sapiarch in his place. Ancestors know I could never do it!"

If you bribed the Sapiarch, she'll say:

"It seems the Sapiarch has calmed down, at least for the time being. I suppose we have you to thank for that."
