Defensive Posture
Defensive Posture: Bolster your defenses, gaining a damage shield that absorbs up to [4800 / 4852 / 4905 / 4958] damage for 6 seconds. This portion of the ability scales off your Max Health. You reflect the next harmful direct damage projectile cast at you. This effect can occur once per cast.
Defensive Stance: Bolster your defenses, gaining a damage shield that absorbs up to 4958 damage for 6 seconds. This portion of the ability scales off your Max Health. You reflect the next harmful direct damage projectile cast at you. This effect can occur once per cast. While you have a shield equipped, the amount of damage you can block is increased by 10% and the cost of blocking is reduced by 10%.
Absorb Missile: Bolster your defenses, gaining a damage shield that absorbs up to 4958 damage for 6 seconds. While the shield persists, you are healed for [2479 / 2506 / 2533 / 2560] Health the next time a harmful direct damage projectile hits you. This effect can occur once per cast. This ability scales off your Max Health.

Defensive Posture reflects the next spell projectile back to the caster. While slotted, it provides a passive bonus of increased block effectiveness and reduced block cost. The Defensive Stance will cause the target to be stunned in addition to taking damage, while Absorb Missile will restore your Health instead of reflecting the projectile.

Patch Notes[edit]

  • Absorb Magic: This ability now absorbs 100% of damage caused, and also heals for 15% of your maximum health.
  • Defensive Stance: This ability now stuns your target for three seconds at all ranks.
  • Fixed an issue so the value in the tooltip for both morphs (Defensive Stance and Absorb Magic) is now correct.
  • Defensive Stance: Fixed an issue where the visual effects of this ability and its morphs would fade earlier than the buff duration.
  • Defensive Stance: Fixed an issue where this morph's stun effect would trigger on every reflection if you layered Defensive Stance with any other reflect ability.
  • Fixed an issue where the visual effects from this ability and the Defensive Stance morph were not being removed if you recast the ability multiple times.
  • Reworked this ability and its morphs into a Damage Shield, rather than a weird buff. These abilities no longer passively reduce the cost of block or increase the amount of damage you can block while they are slotted.
  • Reduced the duration of the bonus from this ability to 6 seconds from 30 seconds.
  • Increased the cost to 4320 from 2430.
  • The Damage Shield scales off 30% of your Maximum Health, similarly to other damage shields like Bone Shield or Sun Shield.
  • This ability will continue to reflect once, but will now reflect any projectile rather than only spell projectiles. Reflecting an attack does not consume the shield.
  • Defensive Stance: This ability no longer stuns the target if you successfully reflect an attack at them. Instead, this morph reintroduces the passive, which now increases to a maximum of 10% block mitigation and cost reduction.
  • Absorb Magic:
    • This morph is now called Absorb Missile, because it can absorb any ranged attack instead of just magical ones!
    • Reduced the damage shield size to 30% from 50%.
    • Increased the heal granted from an absorbed ranged attack by approximately 29%, and will no longer remove the shield.
