"You're not part of the Mages Guild, are you? Perhaps you would like to be?"

The Mages Guild?

"We're an association of mages and scholars who collect and catalog the information strewn throughout Tamriel. Be it tomes, scrolls, or whatever else, we amass this knowledge and ensure its preservation. If you join, such would be your duty."

What does the Guild provide me with?

"We have several arts that are known only to us, which you would be welcome to learn. We also, on occasion, can provide missions to those of adventurous spirit.
Some of these missions, may have you working with the Archmage himself!"

Very well. I'll join the Mages Guild.

"Excellent! Then I grant you admission into our order, with the responsibility and privilege that goes with it. Any texts or scrolls you uncover will now increase your standing within the order."

If you talk with her, she will tell you about some of her problems.

"By the Stars, one whisper of the name Artaeum and the initiates can talk of nothing else. Have we no studies to attend to? Research to compile?"

"I've tried several times to obtain an audience with the Kinlady, but she's declared to be endlessly indisposed. Either she has a weak constitution, or I am undesirable company."
