When spoken to prior to starting the quest, she says:

"Can't you see I am busy?"

During the quest, Erudil will lead you to several of his suffering friends. The first will be Glardir:

Glardir: "Erudil! Ugh. What are you still doing here?"
Erudil: "Glardir? Where in Tamriel have you been?"
Glardir: "I told you before, Glardir's gone! You're so plain, Erudil! So boring!"
Erudil: "Well there's no need for that …."

Speak to her:

"Who are you? One of Erudil's boring friends?
He's insufferable, that one! Not a scrap of drama to be found in that hollow bonce of his!"
If you're not Glardir, who are you?
"An artist! A composer! A thespian par excellence!
And who are you? Another boring, unimaginative, talentless brute, no doubt. You and Erudil make quite the pair."
You know what's going on here, don't you?
"Ooh! A thrilling accusation! Drama! Intrigue! Perhaps I underestimated you.
You know what? I take it all back—you should stay. Every great play needs an audience. This place could use some excitement!"

After you help the first of Erudil's friends, she'll not be pleased:

"So you distracted one of my performers, ay? A bit of drama is fine, but don't overstep!"
Are you going to tell us who you are yet?
"Of course not! You've already mucked up one of the plays. I'm not about to squander what genuine drama remains!
Now, off with you!"

After you help the second friend:

"All right, that's enough! You were amusing at first, but now you're just a nuisance. This isn't how the story goes!"
How does the story go? Who are you?
"No! You don't get to barge in, heckle the performers, then ask questions! You're a boor! An oaf! Leave now, before I really get angry!"

After you help the last friend:

"You! Oh, I've had just about enough of you! My story was perfect. Perfect! And now you've muddled it up. I won't have it! Not anymore!"
What do these stories have to do with you?
"I will never tell you, you guileless, flop-heeled buffoon! You don't deserve it! None of you do!"

Examine the book for the last time, and Glardir shouts:

Glardir: "Enough of this!"

Speak to her and she'll repeat:

"You! Oh, I've had just about enough of you! My story was perfect. Perfect! And now you've muddled it up. I won't have it! Not anymore!"
Enough. Last chance—who are you?
"Oh, such pride! Such braggadocio! You would have made a splendid character in my story, if not for your bull-headed meddling! My name is unimportant—the play's the thing! The story!
You know it well by now. You've been reading it all along!"
So, the Illuminus is your story?
"Yes! And it would have been a far better tale without you in it! Any of you, in fact. You're boring! Ordinary!
I need finer muses …. The library! Yes, there are splendid books in there! I'll use them to weave a true tale of terror!"
Wait. Don't move!

Glardir immobilizes everyone in the area and disappears in a puff of smoke:

Glardir: "You don't deserve this book! It's mine!"
Erudil: "Glardir, wait!"

Inside the stacks, you'll be haunted by the Illuminated One. Upon replacing the books that give the Illuminated One power, you'll find Glardir in the being's clutches:

Glardir: "No more! Get … out of my head!"
Illuminated One: "Gladly! You're boring, just like the rest! I'll finish this hero myself!"
Glardir: "I can't …. Is it gone?"

Speak to her:

"I'm free … finally. Wait, where am I?"
You're in the Academy Stacks. You were possessed, I think.
"Yes, I remember now. The creature—it's called the Illuminated One. It feeds on stories … on conflict and drama. The more exciting, the better.
I fear all this fighting and chasing and anxiety has just made it stronger."
How can I stop it?
"It's grown powerful enough to manifest as a material being. That makes it more dangerous, but it also gives us an opportunity to fight it.
If you hunt it down and beat it into submission, it will have no choice but to return to the Illuminus."
I'll handle it. You should flee this place.

Glardir will enter a portal and leave.

Outside, she'll say:

"Thank you for saving me, friend. Ugh. I think I've had my fill of drama for a while. Time to curl up with a nice, boring cookbook."
