Dialogue[edit]

He will greet you with, "You don't look wounded. What do you need?"

He can also be overheard talking to his patients.

Hjorik: "I'll be with you soon, Igarri."
Hjorik: "Cheer up, Lassen. You're going to be fine."
Hjorik: "Don't give in, Hrolvir. Takes more than this to kill you!"
Hjorik: "Your leg needs time to heal, Nonus. Just rest."

Capstone Caps[edit]

I'm looking for work.
"There's no shortage of it here, my friend.
Blood loss from wounds is our biggest enemy right now. There is a special mushroom that stops bleeding, but we've run out of it. Would you get some more for us?"
Where can I find these mushrooms?
"In Capstone Cave, to the northwest. But be wary! The cave has been taken over by the Black Dagger gang. With our troubles here, we haven't the strength to drive them out."
I'll find your mushrooms.

Talking to him afterwards:

"I really need those mushrooms. Five should do for now."

Once you return with the mushrooms:

"More wounded arrive by the hour. I hope you have good news for me."
I have your mushrooms.
"Kyne be praised! We'll get these prepared immediately.
Your efforts will save lives here. I can't thank you enough."

Dangerously Low[edit]

I'm here to help.
"That's a welcome change. We're dangerously low on everything. Drinkable water and clean bandages especially.
No one I've sent out has made it past the Dremora. Are you willing to try?"
Where should I look?
"Scavenge what you can from the ruins. Townsfolk left everything behind when the Dremora attacked.
If you can't find bandages, linens or clothing will do. Here's a jug for water—you can fill it from a well in town."
I'll be back.

If you talk to him again:

"I hope you find the supplies we need. Lives depend on it."

Once you have collected some needed supplies:

"Any luck? I just used my last bandage."
These should help.
"I thank you. Water and bandages will keep our wounded from passing over Shor's Bridge.
Take this for your efforts."

Enemy Reinforcements[edit]

You look like you need help.
"Badly. But what else is new? A scout just reported that more Dremora are nearing Bruma. It could be a feint, to draw off our guards. I can't risk weakening our defenses.
Would you be willing to help?"
What would I need to do?
"They're coming from the north. Aluri watches that road. Meet her outside of town and she'll point you in the right direction. Stop them, if you can."
I'll go now.

After you agree to help:

"You'll find Aluri along the north road. She'll know where the Dremora are."

Once you have stopped the Daedric reinforcements:

"Did you stop the Dremora reinforcements? We're barely surviving the ones here already."
Yes, I stopped them.
"That gives us some breathing room. I'm sure they'll try again, but we'll burn that bridge when we come to it.
Aluri will keep an eye on the roads. That's all we can do for now."

Lost and Alone[edit]

I'd like to help.
"We can really use some help. The Dremora attacked us without warning. Many villagers are missing. Would you search the town for survivors? Any you find, tell them to make their way here, to safety."
They might be safer in hiding.
"But they can't hide forever. I mixed a few invisibility potions in case we had to evacuate. Give one to each person you find. That should enable them to arrive safely."
I'll find survivors.

Speaking to him afterwards:

"Please find whoever you can and give them those potions.
People won't last long out there. They need to be here, where it's safe."

After you have found some of the missing villagers:

"Several survivors made it here while you were gone. All said you rescued them."
I'm glad they made it back.
"You've done more than most. Thank Kyne you showed up to help us!"

The Standing Stones[edit]

I was about to ask you the same thing.
"Me? I could use more powerful restoration scrolls. With all these wounded to take care of, I'm just about out. Want to make some for me?"
How?
"There's a group of standing stones near the Ayleid ruins of Anga, southeast of here. The stones seem to emit magicka, enhancing the scrolls' powers.
Bring these scrolls there, please, and charge them among the Anga stones."
I'll do it.

Speaking to him afterwards:

"The standing stones are southeast of here. Charge the scrolls there, then return to me as quickly as you can."

When you have charged the scrolls:

"Did you charge those restoration scrolls? I need them badly."
Yes, I have them here.
"Thank you. I can't leave to do this myself, and few others would survive the trip. Your efforts will keep at least some here from passing over Shor's Bridge."
