Stonefist
Stonefist: Crush the earth beneath you, dealing [3000 / 3031 / 3064 / 3100] Physical Damage to all enemies within 6 meters of you. Debris ripped from the ground is held around you for 10 seconds. Activating the ability again allows you to launch part of the debris at an enemy, dealing [3000 / 3031 / 3064 / 3100] Physical Damage, up to 3 times. The final cast stuns enemies hit for 2.5 seconds.
Obsidian Shard: Casting Time: Instant, Cost: 4050 Magicka, Area: 28 meters, Target: Enemy.
Slam an enemy with molten rock, dealing 598 Flame Damage and causing the rock to explode, splashing magma around. You then pull back on the magma to heal yourself or up to 2 allies near the enemy for [4181 / 4227 / 4273 / 4318] Health.
Stone Giant: Crush the earth beneath you, dealing 3098 Physical Damage to all enemies within 6 meters of you. Debris ripped from the ground is held around you for 10 seconds. Activating the ability again allows you to launch part of the debris at an enemy, dealing 3098 Physical Damage, up to 3 times. The final cast stuns for 2.5 seconds. Each hit applies Stagger, increasing damage taken by [50 / 55 / 60 / 65] per stack for 5 seconds.

Stonefist deals physical damage and stuns enemies. It is a good way to quickly disable a nearby opponent, either allowing you to deal with fewer melee attackers nearby, or to allow you to charge up a heavy attack or other ability as a follow-up. Obsidian Shard reduces the damage but also heals you or a nearby ally. Alternatively, Stone Giant will increase your Physical Resistance while having reduced cost.

Notes[edit]

  • Some stronger opponents are immune to knock-down, though they will still take damage.
  • Obsidian Shard is a recommended morph for the Dragonknight Initiate build.

  • Obsidian Shard: Rank I of this ability now has the same travel speed as the other ranks.
  • Obsidian Shard: Increased the damage of this ability by 20%.
  • Stone Giant: This ability now grants the buff Minor Resolve instead of the previous unique increase to armor.
  • Increased the range of this ability and its morphs to 28 meters from 20 meters. In addition, this ability and its morphs now deal Magic Damage, instead of Physical Damage.
  • Obsidian Shard: Increased the healing from this morph by 16%.
  • This ability and the Stone Giant morph now deal 100% increased damage if they knock down a target.
  • Obsidian Shard: Increased the healing done by this morph by 20%, and decreased the damage by 20%.
  • Increased the speed of the projectile fired by this ability and its morphs by 100%.
    • Developer Comments: Since Stonefist is easy to avoid or anticipate with Roll Dodge and Block, we've increased the projectile speed to make it harder for enemies to counter.
  • Obsidian Shard: Fixed an issue where this morph would not fire the heal if the target blocked or absorbed the damage of the initial hit.
  • Obsidian Shard: Fixed an issue where the friendly heal from this morph could be dodged.
  • Obsidian Shard: Increased the radius of the heal from this morph to 28 meters from 10 meters.
  • Obsidian Shard: Increased the healing done by this morph by approximately 25%.
  • Stone Giant: This morph now also grants Minor Ward in additional to Minor Resolve.
  • Obsidian Shard: Fixed an issue where the heal from this ability and its morphs was not prioritizing players over pets.
  • Earthen Heart: Adjusted the duration of these skills so that their final ranks land on integers rather than fractions when you have Rank 2 of Eternal Mountain. This has resulted in the following duration changes:
    • Magma Armor & morphs: Increased to 12 seconds from 10.8 seconds
    • Molten Weapons & morphs: Previously 39.6 seconds, adjusted so Igneous Weapons is now 42 seconds & Molten Armaments is 36 seconds
    • Obsidian Shield & morphs: Increased to 8 seconds from 7.2 seconds
    • Petrify & morphs, Ash Cloud & morphs: no change
    • Stonefist & morphs: Decreased to 3 seconds from 3.6 seconds
  • Reworked this ability to be a Stamina based "spammable" attack. It now deals Physical Damage with a reduced range of 15 meters, down from 28.
  • Increased the damage by approximately 66%, but no longer deals double damage if the target was stunned.
  • This ability no longer stuns the target outright, but instead applies a stack of "Stagger" to the enemy for 5 seconds. After 3 stacks, the enemy will be stunned by the next Stonefist cast at them, including from other Dragonknights. If the target was stunned, all stacks of Stagger are removed.
  • Reduced the cost of this ability to 3443 from 4050.
  • Updated the visual effects for this ability and the Stone Giant morph.
  • Stone Giant (morph):
    • This morph no longer grants Minor Resolve after casting, but instead enhances the "Stagger" mechanic where enemies affected take 45 extra damage from any attack, per stack. This effect cannot stack from multiple sources.
  • Obsidian Shard (morph):
    • This morph remains as a healer focused ability.
    • Increased the healing by 3.3%, since it was missing rank up progression.
    • This morph now deals Fire Damage instead of Magic Damage, and heals 2 friendly targets, up from 1.
  • Developer Comment: We've received a great deal of feedback over the visuals and fantasy element of this ability during the latest PTS cycle, and we're going to continue working on both the story being told with the ability as well as the gameplay interaction of how you come to activate it. While we're relatively happy with the damage and group play this ability will open up, we definitely want to improve on how this ability ties into the feeling of a more martial-based Dragonknight, as well as the ability staying rooted in the Earthen theme, rather than perusing more Poison activity. Expect to see some additional work in future updates!
  • Updated this ability to improve its visual storytelling and per-cast impact; Stonefist is now a two-part ability instead of a singular instant mid-ranged attack.
  • Activating this ability will now stomp the earth, causing you to deal damage in an area around you after a short cast time, and generating 3 charges of the ability.
  • Activating the ability again allows you to lob one of the earthen spheres around you to an enemy from up to 28 meters away to damage them.
  • The base ability no longer has the Stagger mechanic, but instead the final charge will stun the enemy hit upon dealing damage.
  • Reduced the cost of this ability and the Stone Giant morph to 2295 from 3443.
  • Stone Giant (morph):
    • This morph retains stagger in the form of causing the targets affected by the ranged attack to take additional damage.
    • Increased the damage taken per stack to 65 at rank IV, up from 45.
    • This morph now applies Stagger to enemies hit by the initial cast to help improve the impact of landing the cast time.
