Garnikh bet his axe that I can't best the Seamount hunters in duels.

Quick Walkthrough[edit]

  1. Speak to Garnikh.
  2. Defeat three of the Seamount hunters.
  3. Return to Garnikh.

Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

You will find Garnikh at his campsite, south of Grimfield. When you speak to him, he will grumble, "Keep staring, outlander, and I'll repay the sacking of Orsinium twice over. A few scratches don't bother me." When asked what his problem is, he responds, "You. Coming here, thinking you're better than us? Think again." If you tell him "Maybe I am better.", he will make a bet: "Strong talk; prove it. I bet my axe that any of my hunters could beat you in a duel.", continuing to say that if you can beat three of his hunters in duels, his axe is yours.

You will find several of his hunters around the campsite. Once you have defeated three of them in duels, speak to him again. He will say, "No need to gloat; I saw it all. Clearly my hunters need more training." When you ask about his axe, Garnikh's Bite, he will follow through on his promise: "My word is as solid as this steel. Take my axe. Maybe someday you'll learn how to use it."

Notes
* Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g., <Alias=LocationHold>) is dynamically set by the game and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
