Quest-Related Events[edit]

Prior to accepting the quest, you may speak with Sorangarion: (?)

You can ask him some additional questions at this point:

"I'll search for any other survivors who've escaped."
What do you know about this area?
"Whatever they're doing, they're sure to have split the crew amongst their camps. That's how they work. Divide, then interrogate, then kill.
The Maormer show no mercy. They're savages."
Who should I look for?
"First Mate Valion and Captain Seritenya must be somewhere, but I haven't seen them.
Let's see, who else … our carpenter. Yes, and the bosun. Oh! The quartermaster! Never saw him so mad. One of the strikers, too. The Maormer killed almost everyone else."
Why was the ship so close to the shore?
"This was a normal trip to Velyn Harbor, but there was this fog …. I've never seen such a vile black fog. Dark, thick. It caught us by surprise.
When we neared the coast, the Maormer attacked."

Find the manifest inside The Lambent Peregrine and return to the main deck. You'll find Seaman Sorangarion and First Mate Valion interrogating a Maormer:

Seaman Sorangarion: "We'll let you go, if you answer our questions."
Seaman Sorangarion: "Do you think your friends will help you now?"
Seaman Sorangarion: "How many Maormer are in Malabal Tor?"
Seaman Sorangarion: "Why did your people attack our ships?"

If you try to speak to Sorangarion, he'll simply say:

"Speak to First Mate Valion. We haven't much time."

After speaking to the first mate, he'll then say:

"I will protect First Mate Valion with my life.
Walk in radiance, my friend."

The Captain's Honor[edit]

Seaman Sorangarion (Dead)

Once you've rescued the captain, he along with the rest of the crew will be outside Ogrim's Yawn. Unfortunately, Sorangarion does not survive the attack by the Maormer, and his body lies with his fallen enemies.
