Sir Brice is a retired Breton Knight of the Flame found in Wind Keep. He is one of the many men seeking the affection of Countess Ilise Manteau.

Related Quests[edit]

Dialogue[edit]

"A summons was recently sent ordering all Knights of the Flame to return to Firebrand Keep.
For now, though, I feel my duty is to remain here, Sir Hughes will understand.

He will also occasionally have a conversation with Gyrard Leraud about taxes. Both of their dialogue for this encounter is random.

Gyrard Leraud: "Some of the taxes from the citizens could go to help local merchants expand."
Gyrard Leraud: "When you think about it, we merchants shouldn't have to pay taxes at all. We're bringing business into the village!"
Sir Brice: "That's something we'd have to discuss."
Sir Brice: "That's worth considering."
Sir Brice: "I think you're getting ahead of yourself."
Sir Brice: "You certainly have a lot of ideas."

Quest-Related Events[edit]

A Look in the Mirror[edit]

While in the Reflective Spirit's domain, a memory of Sir Brice can be found.

Countess Ilise Manteau: "An enchanted saddle-warmer? You're too generous, Sir Brice. I don't go riding often these days, but I do appreciate the gesture."
Sir Brice: "So does this mean you will consider my request for your hand?."
Countess Ilise Manteau: "You make it hard to resist your advances, but I don't want to rush into anything."
Yarelion: "Perhaps you should tell him the truth, Ilise. That you and I plan to sell the estate and elope to Summerset Isle."
Countess Ilise Manteau: "Indeed I would, Yarelion ... if that were truly the case. I'm afraid you gentlemen will have to excuse me now."

Gift from a Suitor[edit]

Sir Brice can be questioned about his possible role in the cursed mirror plot against the countess.

"If the countess has truly lost her mental faculties, someone needs to take custody of the estate.
If called upon to do so, I would be willing to assume that responsibility, but I would not enjoy it unless she was at my side."
So you didn't give her the mirror?
"No. She's a beautiful woman, and I would not wish to encourage her vanity.
I suspect the mirror was a gift from Raolin Munier. Ask him, or ask young Alainne Babilone if she knows.
Of course … no, I promised to keep that secret. Nevermind."
What do you know about Raolin Munier?
"Are you asking me to indulge in idle gossip? I assure you that I am above such shameful talk.
I will keep my opinions of Raolin Munier to myself."
Who is Alainne Babiloine?
"She's just a young girl who's very busy about town. I won't say she's a gossip but she may know who gave the countess the mirror.
Like I said, I'm sure it was Raolin."
[Intimidate]Tell me or we'll see if you can really use that sword. /Tell me your secret or draw steel.
"Someone told you, didn't they? So what if I'm a coward? I'm a lover, not a fighter.
No need to threaten. I was only going to say that Alainne is obsessed with the countess—what some might call a 'stalker.' She'll know about the mirror."
I'll go speak with Raolin or Alainne then. (Appears when both people have been asked about.)
