What are you looking for?

"My son, Donus. He fled from Cheydinhal when the Imperials tried to force him to join their fight against the rebels.
I'm sure my wife is worried about both of us. If you go to Cheydinhal, tell Kirandas that I'm fine and still looking for Donus."

If I go there, I'll look for her.

After accepting the quest, you can ask him more about himself.

"If you spot Donus on the way to Cheydinhal, please tell him I'm out here, looking for him."

What's happening in Cheydinhal?

"You haven't heard? We're rebelling against the Imperials, trying to kick them out of Cheydinhal."

Why?

"When the Empire collapsed, it's army mostly disintegrated. But in some places, the local commander held his troops together. They had a death grip on Cheydinhal, stealing everything they could from us. Finally we fought back."

How is it going?

"Badly. Every day there's another setback. We're no closer to defeating the Imperials than when the fighting started.
If you make it to Cheydinhal, seek out Sylvian and Vyctoria if you wish to aid our cause."

Why did your son flee?

"Donus wanted no part of the fighting. But Imperial soldiers went house-to-house, grabbing all the young men they found, forcing them to join their brigade. He fled before they reached our house, and he's been out here ever since."

And you want to bring him back?

"Oh, no. Kirandas and I want him to stay out of Cheydinhal until the Imperial soldiers are driven out. I'm just here to find him, make sure he's well, and bring him some sweetrolls. He loves his Mom's sweetrolls."

After the quest is completed:

"If I ever find Donus, I'll return to Cheydinhal. I hope Kirandas hasn't given up hope."
