The purpose of this page is to document some aspects of Elder Scrolls Online that are specific to the Xbox One version of the game. The Xbox One version was released on June 9, 2015. The vast majority of gameplay is identical on all platforms (PC, Mac, Xbox One, or PlayStation 4): the quests are the same, most glitches are the same, etc. You will need to have signed up to Xbox Live Gold to play the game; this setup is beyond the control of ZeniMax.

It has been announced that ESO will be releasing on Xbox Series X, and Xbox One players will be able to upgrade for free.

Platform Differences[edit]

Add-ons are not available on Xbox One.

ESO Plus and Crowns must be purchased from the Xbox Live Marketplace.

Interface Differences[edit]

Although the keyboard and Xbox controller clearly provide very different methods of interacting with the game, most of the controls work the same way.

Patches/Expansions[edit]

It won't be possible to play the game without the latest patch. Xbox One patches are developed separately, and are released less frequently than PC patches due to the effort involved in going live on console. On average, there is one console patch per month, compared to two or three for PC/Mac.

The Toxin Skin Salamander pet is notable for being exclusive to the Newcomer's Pack on the Xbox Store.
