Nede or Imperial?[edit]

Throughout Craglorn, various Nedes such as High King Durac or Zal'ik can be encountered, as they were the inhabitants of the region during the First Era before being killed by Yokudan Tarish-Zi. In his dialogue, Titus says he is an outsider and came from the Colovian Highlands, which are near Cyrodiil's border to Hammerfell. He says that Tarish-Zi recruited him, and given that the Imperials are described as having descended from the Nedes, it does create an slight inconsistency for Imperials to be living the same time as the Nedes.

Though this is more of a lore issue, the inhabitants of Cyrodiil during the First Era (1E 243) were described as being Nedes who were not granted last names by their Ayleid masters. But given that Titus wears Imperial armor and has a full Imperial-styled name, it seems that Titus was an early Imperial. Since there were various Nedic tribes and their culture was described as "fading" by the time the Ra Gada arrives, its probably most likely that the inhabitants of Cyrodiil were already considered Imperials by 1E 808, and the inhabitants of Craglorn were still considered Nedes. I'd still like to have this discussion up since there may be further information behind the character and zone that could affect the topic. The Rim of the Sky (talk) 01:29, 2 April 2018 (UTC)

This has already been discussed, but I think I'd be fine with both variants. From the purely technical point of view, Titus is an Imperial, as evidenced by his appearance (and other characters even call him that). As far as lore is concerned, the earliest Imperial names I could find are from the times of Reman Cyrodiil, but this does not rule out their earlier appearance. Titus probably lived in a transitional period, when the Nedic culture, at least in Cyrodiil, was slowly changing into the modern Imperial culture, and so he probably could be described both as a Nedic Cyrod and an early Imperial. Also, remember that the armor he wears comes from the present, as he mentions having appeared naked. --Vordur Steel-Hammer (TINV1K) 10:31, 2 April 2018 (UTC)
The armor actually comes from his crypt, so it is contemporary with the Yokudan invasion. Several NPCs distinctly call him an Imperial, so I feel like that's the race we should use. The lore implications need to be explained in a note. —Legoless (talk) 23:46, 2 April 2018 (UTC)
I'd agree that infobox should list him as Imperial, and then also the intro sentence, where we currently have a "vn" tag. It seems some sort of consensus is then reached here - we can list him as Imperial, but we can use Rim of the Sky's above explanation in a note. I think it's a really good observation! Would that be okay with everyone? Tib (talk) 09:19, 13 September 2018 (UTC)

the alessian rebellion occurred 565 years before the very first ra gada army arrived in tamriel, and tarish-zi was a later ra gada king; there's no reason to note ayleid attitudes on this page.
